Hello, everyone. Just wondering if anyone could post an audio file for "Star Trek Online Soundtrack OST 01" (it's the first thing that plays whan you open the game client and it plays at DS9 system space). I've been trying to find it for quite some time and could only find it in video format. If you have a way to record the music from the video without capturing any noise from the other noises from the environment and without the limitations of the speakers' audio quality, please post that too. If it is not legal to obtain this music without it being purchased, please do not post. Link to video: http://www.startrekonlineguides.org/...-01-main-theme.

STO's soundtrack has never been available to purchase. Tough luck, buddy.

Still open to other options to get it on an audio file.

I'm kind of surprised that they have not released the soundtrack files for download on iTunes, Amazon, etc. (unless it's a licensing issue). Seems like an easy way to scrape some more revenue together (they already have the tracks. The game's been out over a year. Why not release the soundtrack online for a few bucks?). If every braindead indie band with an internet link can get their tunes out there, you'd think STO could.

I'll have to try an old trick. Remember how you could get your ******** 2 soundtrack files to play?

The music for Star Trek Online was apparently made by Kevin Manthei. Seems he's also produced music for several other games.

Here's a thread that may help you extract audio files from the game. Read Rushakra's post.

I assume it's okay since it's still up, if not I apologize if this is against the TOS or something.

I didn't realize the same talent behind Vampire the Masq: Redemption's music did this game too.

I now have the audio file in MP3 format. If someone from Cryptic says it's OK, I will take it out of the temp. folder.
