There is a time when fleets displayed their prowess and teamwork by deliberately gimping themselves against PuGs and still coming out the winners by an overwhelming margin. As obnoxious and arrogant the displays were, it at least showed that they were strong enough to overcome some degree of handicap and still win flawlessly.
Employing a complete arsenal of cheese to blow up normal -FEDERATION- PuGs is completely the opposite of showing off skill, it's almost as if they're afraid of playing on even grounds against... Federation PuGs. Federation. PuGs. Yeesh.
Anyways these guys don't have to answer to the community. That much is true. Nor does anyone who runs around with these cheese, really. It's a double edged sword though. The community does not have to answer to these guys either when each of us reach a general consensus, and subsequently make comments, on the skill levels of these fleets.
---EDIT: Shameless promotion. Scrap Hargh'pengs. Fix Transphasic torpedoes so both factions can enjoy the love.
The fleet that you belong to, will do anything and everything to abuse the most broken skills, and over powered items that are released in the game. If tomorrow they released a ship that had a torpedo and phaser beam that could, together, one shot a player due to bugs, that fleet would fly that ship just because of how over powered that would be. And then load it up with FAW and Pengs as well because those are over powered as well. I may not have screen shots, or chat logs to prove my statements, but from what I have witnessed in PVP matches, as well as the Open PVP zone of Ker'rat personally, I know what kind of tactics your fleet will stoop to in order to win.
I hate fleets and people that practice this kind of mentality. I'd rather play using things that are balanced and fair, then abuse bugs and exploits just to get kills. Because that's not PVP.
i have fought science ships with 6 of them before, and in my cruiser a 6 pang intrepid could out damage my healing by about 4 to 1. Ive lasted only about a minute against 1 of them, with all the strait hull damage and science debuffs, holds and shield striping it was completely uncountable 1V1. this is the only non alpha strike build in game right now that cant be reasonably defended against or at least countered be lots of healing. i don't want the number you can have limited necessarily, i want 1 front and aft, but a global cooldown change is needed or something
I was with Captain K during the match he is alluding to, and yes the opponents were using multiple pengs per ship. My escort did not have the time to do anything before exploding. Those torpedoes should be unique and have a long cooldown.
Hmm. My little science admiral loves her little purple missile of doom. My KDF haven't had terrible issues with it since they modified it down, except for the fact that THEY DON'T GET ONE YET.
To be honest, I levelled up a new Tac officer Fed side too (I need a bigger signature for all these alts), and after experimenting with both I simply found the quantum torpedo to remain the superior projectile.
