Hello,
I know that there is a hard cap of 125 for any given system power level (unless you have a warp core that allows 130). But I'm having trouble figuring this out...if I'm already almost maxed on WEAPONS power, like say, 123, and then hit EPTWeapons, does the power bonus help with the weapon DRAINS? Such like:

If an attack volley would take me down by 30 weapon power, would the EPTWeapons ability essentially nullify the drain? Or is the only bonus the boost to current power level?

Reason I'm wondering is I'm almost always maxed on weapon power anyway, yet I always use EPtW, thinking it's helping with my weapon power drains. If it does not, I'm wondering if a different EPTx power would be better, such as engines or auxiliary?
Hopefully this made sense to someone. I'd appreciate my help.

By the way I am science captain (in case that affects any answers I get) and fly Vesta usually, but also like the Ambassador or Regent, and occasionally an escort.

Yes, overcapping your weapon power will keep your power capped against power drain.

Visual cap is 125 with hard cap being 135 with added 5 to make visual cap of 130 and hard of 140. Having -30 energy drain would take you down to from 135 to 100 or 140 to 110.

Having eptw gives you the ability to lower your weapon power and grant it to other systems.

135 is not a hidden hard cap.

I wrote this up in a different thread for something related to overcapping, hopefully it will be of some use to you

"when you overcap your weapon power, due to the mechanics in that (the overcap energy doesn't actually exist until the below cap energy is used, yet it is still there, but unusable) how fast that energy 'enters' the system is dependant upon your power transfer rate as it is in effect transferring power from storage to a system."

no matter how often you keep telling this BS it doesn't become fact...

135 is a cap from which weapon power gets drained...it still hits as if it was at 125 power but the energy drain is calculated from 135.

nothing depends on power transfer rate in this case

Then why does EPtW+EPSPT produce better damage (and higher power levels) than EPtW alone (assuming both scenarios care carried out on the same ship with 100 base weapon power and 125 power before applying these buffs)

i have yet to see somebody reproduce this claim...and you writing down numbers in a post is not "reproducing" i mean parsed data, a vid...screenshots. anything.

False, you will never have a second weapon fire at full power (125) while a first is still in cycle aside from experimental beam.

Don't believe me? Kit out a rainbow boat and parse the damages of each weapon type.

It does, however, prevent the second shot from the first weapon that fired from dropping into the gutter which is extremely beneficial.

All I can say is with 1 weapon battery, weapon energy at 125 visual, just using 1 beam array, levels didnt drop, using 2 arrays weapons droped to 115. That means, first is hitting when the energy was at 135 and second at 125.
