# 1 Not starting

Hello, recently when I try to play Star Trek Online, I log in and when it tries to patch it says, "Error 31: A hog returned an error while trying to read. Restart in 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1." and it keeps doing that over and over, what should I do? And I tried force verifying and that still didn't work.

Shut down the game client and delete the .hogg file in question. The game will auto-download the missing file.

First, try performing a Force Verify in Launcher > Options. If that doesn't work, delete C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs\dynamic.hogg and see if that fixes your problem. This particular file seems to corrupt often.
