I would have to agree with the above, I know i have never took out my old tier 1,2,3,4 ships out after I reached VA. My reasons is that I would not last 2 mins in pvp or PVE if i was teaming with my fleet mates etc etc

But if they did retrofit versions of the lower teir ships like the Intrepid, defiant and excelsior then I would love to go back to the Akira. Im all for more retrofit versions of lower tier ships.

I think the new Galaxy variant will mirror the the new Nebula variant visa versa, as this seams to be the pattern with these two great ships.

Why do we need the TOS Connie, NX, or Oberth at T1 then? Why do we need Nebula's, Excelsiors, and D'Kyrs at T3 then? You want them because it gets tiring only have 1 ship type to choose from of each Class. Maybe I'd like to fly a different Cruiser then just the Galaxy (or something that's shaped exactly like a Galaxy), or a different Escort then the Defiant - same goes for Intrepid. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to choose Ambassador Class at T4 rather then Galaxy Class?

Aesthetics are important. It's why we pay money for different uniforms and different Captain and BO types.

Personally I prefer to believe in a future where we have a player refit system for at least some of the lower tier ships. some such as the akira and nova practically scream for a higher tier version but cryptic making retrofits of all the lower ships is just impractical.

That and I have a tendency to get bored and make new characters to try out new built idea's and having different ships to chose as I level is a big boon to that.

For me it is not even a question of getting bored with a particular character. It is a question of not having any interest in doing the same Dailies and STFs over and over for no other reason then to grind for Emblems. And if I am going to do Replay Missions I might as well just start a new character and replay them with a different Class to see what's different then to simply grind for no reason.

Since I have no interest in PvP I have no interest in grinding to get better PvP gear. Outside of an occasional Foundry mission my VAs basically sit idle until someone in the Fleet wants to try an STF - I am feeling willing to do it for the 10th time.

I'd love to have more variety in ship costume parts at all levels, as long as they're not terrible looking, but with CapnLogan on the case I think we're safe there.

Ship costumes below T5 should be free, though.

Well, the Excelsior has a Refit version that is in line with Tier 5 ships. The NX, Connie and Oberth, on the other hand, don't really offer anything valuable to gameplay other than just hanging out at ESD. Only reason people get the Oberth is for the Console.
