My other thread (in Ten Forward) got side-tracked by this same topic, actually.

A good number of people dislike Bajorans because throughout the shows they have been primarily portrayed as whiny, aggressive, self-entitled and self-righteous upstarts who have difficulty taking orders from authority figures.

Ensign Ro is one of the first examples of a Bajoran officer, and she wasn't the easiest to get along with. Kira, in her earlier days, was no easier. Granted, their entire planet was subjugated and persecuted by the Cardassians, but that doesn't matter to many viewers when all they see is the product of the occupation in out "everyday" trek environment.

Besides, if anyone was looking for a scapegoat to hate Bajorans, I only have one name: Kai Winn. I dare anyone to assert she was not worthy of contempt.

I liked Ensign Ro. I wish they had found a way to bring her back for one of the Movies. Kira was contrary and confrintational during the first two seasons, but se grew on me after she mellowed out in season three.

Winn Adami shouold have never been Kai. I suppose that here election to that office was to be a complication for Sisko, but I felt that she was more a more effective foil as a Vedek.

Finally, Wesly Cruher's class mate Sito Jaxa was very endearing in the episode "Lower Decks", and I liked how the character evolved from the events in "The First Duty". Too bad they killed her off. I know that in a few novelizations, she survived. However, I would like to see the soft cannon be reflected on screen by having that character show up.

Sadly, no... which is a shame, cause I like Bajorans. Right now my two Feddies are a Saurian and a level two Joined Trill... sure I don't use her, but darnit, I'm gonna take advantage of buying the DDE!

Aaaand no Bajorans on either bridge crews... though it's never, ever passed a Bajoran my way that had anything I really wanted skill wise... and my Trill only has the one fellow crewmember anyways.

Still, think I need to find a Bajoran to put some place... maybe not as a player character, but could use one on my bridge. Now I gotta debate if I want a Bajoran science officer or a Pakled one... cause, you know, Pakled Scientist for the great lulz.

I have a few Bajoran BOs scattered around as healers. As any BO can get any skill it's all about the Racial and Pool Traits.

No Bajoran main character.. Couldn't resist the urge to custom a 2m orange-skinned, white-haired. alien.. But neither has the game sent my way any Bajoran officers; mainly Vulcans and Humans.

I really want a Bajoran - and a Trill - officer

There are some of us around

Bajorans are awesome.

The Drift's Chief Engineer is a Bajoran. She also has permanently been written into my fan series, because she is awesome like that.

I also have a Bajoran science Captain, and a half Bajoran half Romulan tactical Captain.

My Tac is a Bajoran. They are one of my favorite Star Trek races, and I think they take a lot of flack that they don't really deserve. I can't say she's my main (my Joined Trill eng beats her out), but definitely a character I play quite a bit. My escort captained by my Bajoran captain is mostly staffed by fellow Bajorans as well. I know it's not optimized for stats by it really doesn't matter that much to me.
