A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Under orders from Commander Argus Genstra, the U.S.S. Compliant-B has been dispatched to patrol the Bolarus Sector. Empress Sela's renewed efforts to spread the pain and suffering shared by all Romulans at the loss of their home world has increased tensions in the area. The Hirogen have deployed their most lethal Beam heavy Escorts equipped with Subnucleonic Beams and Reman activity has increased tenfold.
Opon arriving at Llaiir II, an M-Class planet in the Llaiir System, we received a distress signal from Outpost Quebec Alpha, in the Breshar System. The Reman's have been testing the outpost's defenses but after the last encounter Quebec Alpha found itself with limited Sensor function. Reports indicated that Engineering Teams were working tirelessly to repair the relatively minor damage, however they were unable to resolve the issue with their sensor array.
Captain's Log, Supplemental:
We arrived in Breshar System where we were surprised to discover three Reman squadrons and a Battleships laying in wait around the outpost. Their cloaking devices were either inoperable, or perhaps they were just too cocky, whatever the reason we quickly disabled or destroyed much of the squadron effectively liberating the Outpost. Surely this victory will set back any Reman efforts to establish a foothold from which they might launch stronger incursions against Federation colonies in the sector.
Captain's Log, Stardate: 89182.98
We've received word from Starfleet Command that several of our satellites in the Ponor System have been tampered with. A signal has been detected which appears to be transmitting all communications in the sector towards the Neutral Zone. The U.S.S. Complaint-B is the closest Federation ship so we've plotted a course for the Ponor System at maximum warp. If the Romulan's have compromised our satellites this could be a tremendous blow to security in the Sector.
Captain's Log, Supplemental:
We reached the Ponor System where we encountered a number of surprising developments. The Satellites were surrounded by Romulan ships! Again, they didn't bother to cloak, but we didn't even know they were there until a crewman passed a window on a forward deck and reported it to the bridge in a panic. It appears that the Sensor issues reported by Quebec Alpha are effecting our listening posts as well as systems on board the Compliant-B.
Tactically, we are unable to properly assess dangerous situations. Even with scans at their highest settings we are unable to identify critical information regarding ship Engines, Deflectors and Shields. We are unable to properly prepare for an enemies attack because our sensors are unable to identify the most basic tactical information such as energy type or even the type of torpedoes they have at their disposal.
Realizing the severity of the issue, I ordered key members of my crew to go look out their window and report back. Playing hot and cold, we chased the Romulan's from the system and destroyed all of the compromised satellites. The Starfleet Corps of Engineers is on the way to replace the satellites and further investigate the rapidly spreading malfunction of Sensor Arrays in this sector.
In spite of their tireless efforts, I fear that it may not be enough. If the Romulans have truly devised some sort of weapon to neutralize our sensors, it may only be a matter of time before an entire fleet decloaks at the doorstep of Starfleet Command.
I'm just wondering, maybe I've been missing it all this time, but is there a problem with our incredibly advanced star ship sensors? Right now we can sort of scan a ship which will give us information about hull strength and accolade points. We can see a representation a relative shield strength although. We have no idea what an enemy is carrying until they shoot it at us.
Why don't we have a system in place to allow us to /check our opponents? Why doesn't it open up a tactical read out like when we /check our own ship's status? Obviously there is probably some information that shouldn't be available through a sensor scan (like BO layout, for example) but as far as equipment goes (number of weapons/type, shield capacity, engines, deflector, consoles, speed), that sort of thing seems pretty basic.
So I know I'm not the first person to think of this. I'm just curious as to why we don't have anything like this already?
OK, I'll own up to being a bit too goofy cluttering up a serious question with all of that nonsense. I suppose I should have expected that few, if any, would actually stick around long enough to get to the point so I'll try to clear it up a bit, lol.
I'm just wondering why we can't /check or /scan another ship within range to determine what kind of equipment and weapons they are carrying.
Why don't we get a ship status window, much like our own, perhaps with slightly less information? Seeing things like Bridge Officer Abilities or traits wouldn't make much sense, but the type of Deflector or Shields seems like a given.

You might want to ask a moderator to change the thread name, I was actually thinking the thread is about the AUX debuff you get when playing on Advanced and Elite...
