Mkay so I was watching Charlie X and Kirk says the Enterprise has 430 crew members onboard the ship. Well I noticed that TOS Constitution Class only has 100 and 3 bridge slots. Shouldn't the ships in the game have the exact specifications that they do in the tv shows and movies? Like for instance the Miranda Class has both aft and forward torpedo bays but in the game you can really only use the forward torpedo launcher. Cryptic could go onto http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Portal:Main to really help them design the interiors for each ship class.

Actually, screw it. Imma give em the exact number of crew for each class ship that I can give em.

Not really. First off, the crew count varied from episode to episode. That one it might have been 430 the few episodes later it might have been 400. TNG probably changed the most. Second, I think these "classic ships" are (in game) supposed to be the old work horses of the fleet but made with modern materials and tech. So you wouldn't need as many crew members because more of the systems would be automated.

Yeah and it doesn't matter much, considering in STIII they basically flew the Enterprise with a handful of people.

Initally, I am inclined to agree. However, from the game balancing point, using exact crew complement would make the ship classes out of scale, and would require a major trade off in either hull, turn rate, or attack power. A standard ship strength progression would be nearly non-existant, unless you created completely new ship designs unique to the game (not a bad idea, actually). The standard and familiar classes would not appear where the players would think they should be. I hope this help shed light on the difficulties of your suggestion.
