# 1 Looking For Fleet
08-06-2011, 05:49 PM
I'm a VA Eng-Cruiser looking for a good fleet with activities, some structure, but not a ridiculous amount of rules. Please reply with some reasons why your fleet is great. Link to your website (if u have one, if not, even better!). I do like to roleplay so if you have roleplayers that's a plus. I'm also maxxed on my crafting and I'm willing to help any fleetie for free if they provide mats.

Hey Chase. Take a look at us at Hammerfist Fleet!

A couple reasons we're great:
Rules: Be respectful and have fun! Those are the only ones.
Activities: We run regular events, usually on Sundays.

Check out our site at or drop me a message

Hey There Chase
I would reccommend looking up the 12th Fleet as well, Hey check out all the options before you commit right? .

They have only the usual commonsense rules, and not a huge unending list, they have a very relaxed atmosphere of play when you want to play, and play how YOU want to play, as well as having one of the nicest communities I have come accross in any MMO.

Also they have absolutley tons of events going on all the time, you want to group?, sure there are people looking to group, and our events list is full for this month alone with PVP and Fleet Actions. Also you want to try your hand at RP this is the best place to try it out and maybe find something else you enjoy in game.

Check them out, maybe you'll like us enough to call us your new home!

Federation Fleet: Your response is attractive, however I have a few questions.
  1. What are your uniform policies? I prefer fleets w/o a uniform policy.
  2. How many STFs do you run?
  3. How many people are online at any given time?

12th Fleet: I'm considering your fleet as well, though because your website isn't fully operational at the moment and doesn't show much for info I have a few questions for you.
  1. Do you have a uniform policy? As stated before, I don't generally like uniform policies.
  2. What's with all the division branches? Seems kinda overdone but if you could explain some of 'em it'd be nice!
  3. How many people are online on average?
  4. Do you run STFs and other missions regularly?
  5. How much does your fleet roleplay?

Hey There Chase I will endevour to answer some of your questions on the 12th, and maybe as I myself am a new recruit it may be helpful to have answers from my perspective.

1. There is a unifrom policy, but as far as I can tell it's only ever enforced for RP events, and for the fleet meeting that seems to run every two months. I have come accross several members as have rarely seen any of them in the fleet uniform. However I choose to wear it as to me it's quite awesome.

2. The Division branches are only there to make sure that YOU the player gets to do exactley what you want to do. For instance I like to RP it's one of the main reasons for me to play an MMO, so I went into Medical.

Intelligence: General PvE (Non-Aggro)
Tactical: Space PvP*
MACO: STF's and Ground PvP*
Engineering: General PvE
Medical: Roleplaying*
Exploration: Group PvE and Roleplaying (Space exploring)*
L&S: Crafting and Material Management*/PvE

However the above are pretty self explanatory, and as you see we have a complete division for people who like to do STF's. Basically because this fleet has a lot of members it means that people are imeadiatley sorted by what they prefer to do in game. However this does not mean that once in a division you can only do that, goodness me no, it just sorts people in to their MOST prefered playstyle.

3. In the Fleet we usually have 5-6 people at the least listed on the Roster, however you can only have your main the the 12th fleet, and all alts go in the 12th fleet reserve, also we have the House of 12th Klingon Fleet and we all share the same channel, so let me tell you the 12th Channel is fairly hopping. We also have a TS Server that has a fair amount on as well, however I can't give you a fair average, because as I say, I am a new recruit myself.

4. STF's and PVP are run regularly from what I can see with the Khitomer Accords and Infected being run tonight and tommorow it seems and there are lots and lots of events running all the time, however as a new recruit and someone who has only been in game myself several days, I am still trying to find my feet within the game it's self so am not confident in my ability in STF's so have not joined any events yet. However I am sure if you posted in the recruitment thread and asked about the frequency of events that one of the guys form that section would be more than happy to give you a more detailed response.

Edit: After chatting with the guys this afternoon it seems that those I mentioned are just the formal events, as a lot of members are STF addicts, it seems impromtu ones are run all the time, with a triple hit planned for this evening alone

5. In Medical and I believe Diplomacy there seem to be a lot of oppertunities for RP, one is coming up on the 13th of this month for in-game RP, and forum RP happens all the time. However with this guild you are not required to RP at all, and the Medical Division seems to be where all the die hard RP'ers congregate.

I hope that has demistyfied it a little for you chase, and I am sure with the website being updated at the moment the guys would answer any questions you posted on the recruitment forum if you wish more detailed replies, and ones from much more experienced members. I am only a rookie however I have tried to help as best I can.

My Fleet is the glorious fleet "Federation Command"

We are veterans of the Star Trek gaming community and have been around in one form or another since 2002.
While we are still striving to establish a strong STO presence, we do have many veterans of Star Trek Online in our ranks.
We aim to provide a wide rang of activities on a near daily basis, ranging from STF's, Fleet Actions and PvP.

We have a fully developed chain of command, and a lot of branches of the Fleet.
And while you may be concerned with excessive legislation, you really only need to learn what you want to.
If your just here to have socialize and have fun in game then the rules are in a nutshell to nice and respectful, nothing complicated about that.

HI there!

Firstly, can I say that the above fleets are all excellent choices and I'm sure you will have a difficult decision deciding between them all. But if I may, I'd like to offer an alternative to the esteemed fleets who have posted.

The {UFP} was set up in 2002 and specialises in Star Trek games both current and legacy. The fleet has a very small number of rules and therefore is very suitable for casual players.

The rules are:

Abide by the code of conduct.
Treat other players as yu would have them treat you
Sign a monthly roll call (which is a 5 or 6 field form which we use to determine overall fleet activity).

That's it. That is all we ask!

In return, you get a large international fleet with event officers covering the major timezones. We run regular events which are advertised on our website and in the ingame events tab. These events can vary from the usual STF's, fleet pvp, foundry nights, meet and greet's and events with other fleets and loads more.

We hold a quarterly awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the fleet members who sacrifice a lot of their time to making the {UFP} the best place for Star Trek gaming. We also have a fantastic in house magazine (The Herald)which you may have seen on the front page of the STO website following interviews with D Stahl, the STO producer. As a new recruit, we will assign you a Recruit Support Officer who is your go to point of contact for any questions you may have within the fleet.

If you are a more hardcore player, then there are plenty of ways the {UFP} will suit you. We have a number of gaming divisions which support Star Trek games such as Elite Force, Star Trek Online, Bridge Commander, Armada 2 and a number of departments which support all of those gaming divisions. Positions are always being advertised and it#s up to you how involved you are with the running of the fleet and helping out.

As for RP, well a lot fo our players do RP using the RPG-X add on to Elite Force. In fact, we do so much RP, we have a dediated division and we do serial role plays.

If you are interested in learning more about the UFP, then you can head on over to and should you decide to join then you can do so here.

Oh and before I forget, we don't have a uniform policy. Every once in a while we do a meet up and a photo op where a fleet uniform is required but that is the only time you will be asked to wear one. Activity levels are good but obviously varies hugely on a day to day basis and is dependent on a whole range of factors. But it's not uncommon to see 12-20 on during our busy times and when it's quiet, that is likely to be around 5-10. Again, this varies on timezone, month, how close to a release it has been...all sorts...
