I try to cap in C&H but it takes sooo long and is boring. You are sitting there and circle... wait...wait... full impulse to the next point and start again. Heck even PvE is more fun than that. And the worst thing is you don't even know how long you have to stay to capture a point. I can understand everyone who is not trying to capture and just fights. Especially if C&H is the daily 5 times in a row...

Things Cryptic can change to make C&H C&H again: faster capturing, indicator how long it takes, different rewards for winner/loser (like a level appropriate item box, but that is needed for all types of PvP)

Well its one thing to be stopping me from capping its another to be the entire enemy team 70+ km above me chasing an escort like its the last piece of fried chicken.

it's kinda easy to get carried away in CnH.

Shanty Town's way worse though. Can't wait for some Kling of the Hill !

haha, people playing C&H wrong is clearly an indication that the C&H map sucks!

If doing it by the rules was the most fun thing, that's what people would do! If running around shooting people at random is more fun, then that's what people will do. Wether the objective is capturing broken space debris or fighting off the borg aka Kerrat.

The problem is not the players, it's the game.

Make the C&H mechanics more transparent, so it will be easier for people to see that they make a difference! Add a reward for winning the objective, to make it a more desireable path.

Personally, I take much more satisfaction from having high numbers on the scoreboard, than from reading "Red team wins!". And that line is the only difference between winning or loosing the objective.

Part of the problem here is the inferior idea of rewarding someone for losing. If you lose, you should take that experience and find a way to win next time, if you can't then you do not deserve any reward, I consider this axiomatic and easily understood.

This is all well and good in theory, but in practice you'd discourage some from PVPing. Given how much the PVP community has shrunk, do we really want to go down this road?

I like the idea of the points healing so you can't just "tap" them off and fly away, I think a clearer indication of the state of a cap point would be good as well. Aside form that, we'll always have the problem of some players wanting to shoot stuff becasue capturing is boring, yes, they're a liability to your team in C&H some of the time. (sometimes you NEED more capturing than pewing), but that's the nature of the beast. Maybe introduce something else to the score at the end a little like Ke'rat, where the top three cappers on each side get loot?

It may just as well be the "no reward for winning" line that has caused the population to shrink! Most of the people I know of who have left PvP are the die hard win-at-any-cost players... So I'd say "no reward for winning" doesn't have a good track record in STO.
