What is it? Why are people so down about a new trek series? Are we so defeated and marginalized that there is no hope of ever seeing the mainstream again? And don't give me that crap about an animated series. That bull, It's a niche market and you know it. It will never be mainstream. Never.
So I ask you. People of Star Trek Online. Does anyone out there besides me and the OP want a new TV series?
I don't care if you don't think it will work. I want to know if you want one. If so what would you like to see?
the TV series were good, but its time to make another XD this time, in the "Extended" Universe, the one from the MMO in the year 2409 would make a great place to start XD the renewal of the klingon war, the intability of the romulans! the return of the Borg!, species 8472 "Undine" infiltration, the emergence of the Cardassian True Way.
This would make a great starting point for a new TV series! and as it advances in Seasons the "Commander" could advance in rank starting at Lieutenant in Season 1 and so forth.
i say the "Captain" should be a Women A Vulcan who eventually grows her hair long, or a Trill Female.
Reasons:
the ratio between male and female captains is somewhat... unbalanced
cpt. Archer, cpt. kirk, cpt, picard, cmd. Sisko
vs
cpt. Janeway...
(i'm not sure where to post this idea to actually see it happen or who to send it to so i'm putting it up here to see what kind of a response we can get for it XD who knows, enough likes, and someone might take notice) d('-'d)
I always thought it would be cool to see a ST series that gives 1 to 5 episodes to one starfleet crew with a story line for those episodes. Then a new crew for the next few epsiodes. Show other ships and crews and make it so the span from the ENT era to TNG. Seeing new ships and crews from TOS would be intresting

Yes, please! Anything! Just no singing during the introduction music (like in Enterprise)... Keep it a music only with an introductive narrative like in TOS/TNG/VOY/DS9.

(de-cloaks)
I'll second that motion. All those in favor of no singing in the new Trek intro?
I would say anything that is not JJ universe but taking place after TNG. No more prequels. Flashback episodes are fine or past references.
Yeah, I am getting sick of how many things keep jumping on the "prequel" band-wagon. Star Wars did that well. The latest Star Trek Movie I enjoyed too. I think, despite how awesome they are or could be, prequels are becoming more annoying.
I wouldn't mind at all a new series in the new timeline. Or even one based in the STO timeline or the timeline following Nemesis but before STO.
Or, how about we shoot straight into the Enterprise-J timeline... yeah, I am one of those who love the Enterprise-J look, even though we saw so little of it.
I can't agree with you on the Star Wars prequels being "done well." ROTS was entertaining (sans the Vader NNNNNOOOOOOOOOooooooo......) but the other 2 were mostly horrendous.
Might want to update your sig, Transformers Universe isn't slated for release until 2012. Sounds like early 2012, maybe 1st quarter.
I dunno, I really enjoyed the three SW prequel movies. I don't read the novels or anything so I was never disappointed on that aspect. It had also been several years since I had re-watched any of the original movies, so it was like a fresh new triology to me.
The abominations called the first two prequel Star Wars movies were terrible. Revenge of the Sith was pretty good outside of some bad lines. I still think one after nemesis, and after the 24th century events in Star Trek XI, so that ought to be great.
