No offense to this post, but I've heard this a bit more lately, so if someone could respond about tractor beams? My fleet uses it a bit. Especially with new members who need that facing to gain confidence.
There are like 200 ways to counter a tractor beam. PH, APO, JS, PSW, full engine power and evasive.
Please someone let me know, we don't want to harrass anyone or use a power that is deemed OP or broken.
Also none of us run anything more than tractor beam1, and noone puts not even 1 point into boosting it.
Thanks guys.
I don't mind TB as they are, but when there's multiple ships using them, particularly with a sci involved, it goes, TB, ATPO, Sub Nuc, TB, PH, PSW, TB, etc and so on.
In a premade I don't have much if any problem with them as I just wait for it to wear off while my team heals me. If there were to be any change I would ask for it would be a shorter cooldown on ATPO, or another skill that can nullify at TB's effect.
Evasive is great if you wan't to run in a straight line and Eng batteries do fine, but then I have to wait 1:20 to use another one, or any other battery for that matter. PSW on an escort is, in my opinion, foolish as is JS. As for the other 195 ways a TB can be countered, particularly by a tacscort,, enlighten me.
@Staran, I enjoy PVP, it's dang near all I do, the majority of folks in PVP regularly are good players that know how to play and play well, but then there's those few that are more irritating than some tropical skin diseases.

Cool. I get your point. Also, 200 ways was of course just a "turn of phrase" or just allsuion to that there usually very limited ways to counter things in the game.(I.E. psw won't kill eject warp plasma, just the direction in which it trails) I am still very new and learning, most of the guys out here have been doing this much longer. I just didn't want to tick people off and give our fleet a bad name in the pvp community, as we have been in the q's daily for a while now. We still stuggle to get 5 good guys on at the same time. Lots of average guys getting better, but just one maybe two home run hitters.
Again I meant no offense, and thanks for responding. We look for ways to "set the battlefield" and immobilization is a key part of that. We only have one guy that offers to chroniton minespam, but none of us really want to do that.
Also, heck yeah psw on an escort is rediculous. But right now they are a very powerful adversary in the q's.
GG has become a common term now . Can't change that no matter where it formerly came from.
I only avoid typing GG when there is heavy fotm (you'll be hearing this word from me all the time ;D) involved. Commonly, the winners using all the IWINs smack talk in local/zone chat.
But in the end, it's just two letters . Who cares.
Most of the time I GG just to be nice and show that I appreciate getting off the freaking queue or because I had little time to show more appreciation, one way or another, for a match and a chance to learn.
Sometimes I try to call it like I see it.
If I am in a steam roll I try to type some thing to the effect of, "Good heart," or "Thank you for for doing your best." and hope they take it as stick with it you'll get better.
If I am in a close match I come across as, "WOOT!" "Thank you!" or "That was freaking awesome!"
But to me the most important time to GG is...
If my team gets steam rolled or I spend the entire match getting focus fired and my competitive nature is running with a full head of steam I have to shout out GG, because I need to remind myself that in the end it is only a game.

See you on the battlefield.
No offense taken, the 195 comment was meant to be tongue in cheek with a twist of sarcasm. I hope it didn't sound too a-holish.
If you ever need a 5th and that 5th would best be served as a tacscort just throw a pm to Crudelis@alkem.
