It doesn't appear on the action bar by default, so I assume it already has a keyboard shortcut (kind of like how the arrow keys distribute shields toward a particular facing). Does anyone know what it is? Or do I have to put it on the action bar if I want to use it?

you can go into your keybind setting via settings menu its under there and you can re-define the shortcut key.

Actually, when S4 went live...the default key for balance shields was removed. I had to remap mine to the INS key

I usually bind it to 7 myself, but at higher levels I kinda start running out of room on the action bar, hence this thread.

Thanks for the answers, everyone. I've bound it to one of my mouse buttons and to the Delete key. Seems to be working out pretty well, and it freed up an area of the action bars generally devoted to shield skills, which I seem to have a lot of.
