Evening all, after building up alot of EC for weeks now im going to be taking the dive into antiprotons, im currently spec'd and equipped with disruptors etc etc. What im planning is 5x very rare antiproton beam arrays DMGx2 1x very antiproton beam bank and for conoles im going to get 2x uncommon antiproton mag regulators and a plasma distribution manifold.
Im only going to be doing PVE maybe PVP but i doubt that, i wont be speccing into antiprotons they take up way to many skill points. So with that what do you guys think good set up? oh and VA tac in excelsior retrofit.
I’ve been contemplating this for a while. I’m thinking about respecing my Eng/Escort captain and this is what I’m debating.
Pulling all my points out of Phasers and maxing or near maxing out beams – already maxed in cannons.
Run My DBB Heavy C and Medium C in front Quantum fore and aft & two turrets in aft.
Then I’ll redistribute points into sci skills I use (Hazard Systems) and some ground skills. My captain is pitiful on ground and I play on elite. I’m competent in tactics but when I draw group agro or don’t jump out of the way of a grenade – it’s lights out.
I will not place any points in the energy weapon types.
However, I’m not moving on this until I can get three or four antiproton consoles XI blue.
Does anyone know where one may be able to farm those?
if you dont use skills on AP, its quite pointless to use them at all. whats worth 2% more crit when the whole dmg withou skillpoints is about halfened?
I've been grinding starbase 24 and breen missions to save up my EC to get all this i might respec if it makes a big difference lol
Do the crafted AP weapons not interest you? You could have spent all that time gathering anomalies to craft stuff (and to sell, since anomalies go for really high prices; especially the rare ones).
If you're going to run that many beam weapons then an EPS flow regulator is an absolute must. You'll need it to keep all those beams powered up or they won't be firing at full power. I have this same setup on an assault cruiser that works well.

Hmm? Weapon power drain comes back instantly (except for Beam Overload and similar powers; those recharge at you power transfer rate). They changed to that last year.
