Nope, totally on my end, sorry about that...

However, we got it sorted out. Thanks to Naevius for figuring out the difference!

But great job with your explanations, as always.

Perhaps a little offtopic, but since I use alot, and alot of keybinds, I am really disappointed on how the game actually handles the tray abilities on a slow pace, unresponsive, etcetera. While this actually doesnt have to do anything with the keybinds itself, you will quickly notice this when you use more binds simultaneously.

Its like two or more abilities are constantly trying to pop, and they are really fighting over it which one can come first. The devs should take a lookat this like they did on ground.

It seems that Batteries and functions like Distributing shields, Firetorps etc, isnt affected by this, however it still remains very annoying. Sometimes even death as a result.

Well, just wanted to tell this so people are aware of this issue. Note again this does not interfere with the other functions other then +TrayExecToTray, like Distribute shields.
I think it is some kind of "feature" to avoid exploits and "real" macros to work. You can bind 10 powers to the same key, but you then have to press the key 10 times, so you can't get a speed advantage over another player. And any externally provided Macros would also not gain you an advantage.

Just gotta say - Wow! I already understood the importance of distributing shields and have made it a hotkey since my early days playing STO. I made it a habit to continually hit this key along with the space bar to fire my beam weapons. This keybind has made it SO much easier. Not only is my hand less likely to cramp up, but it frees up a power tray slot, and I never forget to do it! Thanks so much for this. Keep those tips coming!

Another note that should be observed: When using the arrow keys to distribute to a facing shield (very useful for Escorts who will likely keep their front towards the enemy and thus it will be the one dying) it is most effective to hit the arrow key and hold it down rather than tapping it.

Evenly distributing the shields is good, but that doesnt seem that it would be as effective to me as diverting all shield power to one facing.

Evenly distribute is going to send shield power to a facing that might not necessarily need it at the moment and take it away from a shield under attack.

Just using the Up, Down, Left, Right arrow keys to distribute power on the fly seems like a better idea to me.

But that requires having your hands anywhere near the arrow keys.

In the cases where a shield facing is under attack - it is bound to be one of the lowest eventually, and then distribute will work for you again. The advantage of distribute is t hat it really ensures none of your shield facings is at full, so you get the most out of all shield heals and shield regeneration.

But if the arrow keys (or any other key combination) works for you, you might definitely have a small advantage.

I have the distribute shields command bound to mouse button 4 (one of 2 thumb buttons on my mouse) because I only hit the spacebar when combat starts or I switch targets.

Of course, now that autofire seems to randomly stop working I'm hitting the spacebar more. I'll slap this spacebar keybind on because, honestly, why the hell not? It's not going to hurt anything and will be a great supplement to my current practice.

Thanks BigRedJedi.

I know that this is a little over the 30-day limit, Storm, but, may I request a Sticky? I think that this will be hugely beneficial information, once the influx of F2P players start to frequent the Forums... If not, bury this one, and I'll re-write it when they get here.
