# 1 Chronoton torps

I'm starting to build an endgame eng. How good are Chronoton torps? I'm thinking of running Chronoton Toprs with Phasers, and HY.

If your flying a cruiser they are great weapons since your biggest enemy is turning your ship I use to run Cronotorps in the front and crono mines in the back. until I got high yield 2 for my main tac officer

Not the most powerful torp but very useful Hard to find the ultra rare one you have to craft it at mem alpha and buy the X version there.

thanks

This was one of the things I was thinking about, it would stop a Escort, allowing me to broadside it without taking a lot of damage.

I wouldn't say the ship would come to a complete stop, but I feel it helps. I use 2 on a Eng battle cruiser healer. I'm not trying to do damage with that ship so no need for quantums. I also find the chronos proc a lot with or without the high yield. But if you are going for the proc, the mines might be better.

there not to bad, the down side i find is the recharge time but if u equip lets say sovereign class ship, so 4 phasers, 2 forward and back, have either 2 quantums with two chroniton torps or two photon and two chronitons.

It's not really that great. The debuff is nastier when someone is trying to run then when someone is trying to kill you.

Chroniton Mines might be the most effective mines in this game, though. But that's not saying much.

So maybe run one with HY, and don't bother with buffing the weapon level?

Depends on what you're trying to do; PvP or PvE? Also, what type of ship?

For my Sci pure support builds, I'm quite fond of Chronitons; Gravity Well with a Chroniton Spread is pretty potent and killing anyone's movement and speed defenses.
