I hate the elitism which seems endemic to gaming.

So what if you're an uber tac shooter mode killa? I prefer the RP mode because I know I'm useless at FPS games. Does that make me more deserving of ridicule?

Ship Build Perfectionists - Seriously, it's my ship, so I'll put what I want, where I want it. What do I care if it isn't the perfect escort, tank or science fit? I'm having fun, leave it at that.

I agree with all the above regarding ship names. It's an MMORPG folks, at least try and keep them plausible. There's several thousand years of history, mythology, fiction and real ship names to choose from and the best you can do is the "USS Cannotbebothered"?

Ok, that said, the positive experiences and sheer amount of genuinely friendly, helpful people I've met far outweigh the negatives.

I hate raids being formulaic. After a while it's just like a second job. you have to do certain things at certain times over and over to be sucsessful. and thats just boring.

I think mmos need a version of left 4 dead's procedural scripting generator. So that everytime you entrer a raid you have no IDEA what to expect.

This one applies to a good number of MMOs. It's pet peeve shared by very few people, but It's one of my biggest.

CO has them who not STO? Kirk wore 'em
WoW, RoM, EQ2, Rift ....... none
Free Realms.......Sunglasses, but it's not the same

That's becuase advances in science allows people with any injury to overcome it. Like a damaged spine (Worf in TNG) can be circumnavigated by mind-controlled nerve pulse generators in strategic locations.
