My Eng is flying a MVA Escort... I had two arrays and a quantum in the back for a while but ultimately decided to go with turrets instead of the arrays. I dropped FAW and picked up a second HYT instead... which works well with front and rear quantums. Also the turrets rate of fire is buffed by cannon rapid fire... so that's another plus.

Phasers all the way:

3 Mk XI DHCs & 1 Mk X Quantum on the bow.

2 Mk X Beam Arrays & 1 Mk X Quantum on the stern.

I find it works for me. /shrugs.

I can. Its all about slowing to 1/2 speed, or even 1/4 speed (that if the stupid thing decides to turn to face me and continue forward).

Man, I can't even conceptualize doing this anymore. I use to do this early on but now Iíve become so accustomed to flying balls out, modifying my speed with power settings vs the throttle, this approach just seems Ė SLOW.

Doing this in a D-R is flat out criminal. I love just laying waste to cruisers with multiple passes; only to add insult to injury by tactfully distributing defensive buffs. Itís kinda like punching them in the throat while ducking and giving them the middle finger every time they swing back.

Same in PvP

Mixing 3 weapon types can really hamper your skill point spending.

This is my escort build too, not many ships survive the first volly

I added a DBB to the front and trained one of my BOffs in Beam Overload. She's quite a bit more powerful now; I toss on all my attack pattern buffs, hit CRF I and BO III, and any light n' crunchy ship is destroyed in my first pass. Heavier ships tend to be down to less than 50% hull integrity after the first pass.
