Also DC metro area. Was on the 8th floor of my office building when it hit. I thought it was someone moving something REALLY heavy around at first. Then someone noticed folks across the street running out of their buildings.
That said, everything in the building seemed to come out of it okay (although I bet they'll have folks looking it over for the rest of today and probably tomorrow), and nothing at home seemed to be any worse for the wear. But it was a helluva big shock.
Where I am in Ohio (364 miles from epicenter) it felt like the house was riding a wave. Neat sensation when you're in the ocean, creepy and weird when you're sitting at your computer. Dog gave me that sideways head turn look.
As for those doubters, just remember REM's prophetic words!
"Hey, that's great, it starts with an earthquake..... "
In all seriousness, hope all are well and property damage is minimal.
Maybe It's not the WEST coast that's gonna fall in the ocean!
Get your planes and boats! It's 2012!
No it is 2011 but 2012 is coming soon. Don't miss out, I am taking orders on escape rockets just $200,000 plus fuel and supplies.
Number of occupants for each rocket depends on how much of each occupant is wanted to be saved. Due to current fuel costs Cappa Rockets will only supply enough fuel for the first 10,000 feet. It is the rocket operator's responsibility to coordinate refuel before 10,000 feet. Insurance is highly suggested as our rockets were made by random people 'recruited' from the streets.
