It's also been "coming" for the last 5 years.

Annoying voiceover aside, it's cool and all, but nothing new. As Notch (And followup) so eloquently put it, it's a scam. They're hyping it so they can get funding. Others have already been working on something similar.

Despite their refusal to address drawbacks or flaws, I wish them the best of luck. This is far from finished, but still a huge step in 3D graphics rendering.

I'd like to know how long it took them to render their clips. I'm betting it was like ~0.01 fps and they let it run for a week to produce the couple short clips we saw.

I don't mind polygons. They keep my computer from demanding tylenol and exploding.

That's a whole bunch of hype and rhetoric, and probably some flat out lies. 21 Trillion particles? How many supercomputers you have running that "demo". "Unlimited"? I think thermodynamics called; it wants to have a talk with you.

Just because something can be done does not mean it should.

I may be different to many folks here but I would rather play the likes of Mario brothers on the Wii with its cartoony graphics than the likes of Alien v's Predator with unlimited numbers of polygons and incredible detail. It would scare me and hopefully any other sane person witless.

Some things would be far too scary and in my opinion avoided at all costs.

"100,000 is a pretty big number" says annoying voice-over guy.

Wow. Deep and insightful.

-Yawn-

Sure we will be hearing from him again in another 5 years.
