I got a Question doe everyone. Why does Star Trek and Star Wars have to take place in different universes?
Even through Star Wars does not mention any of Star Trek's planets, and Star Trek does not mention anything about Star War's Planets. I mean the universe is huge, and Star Wars" opening title does say "In a galaxy far far away". I mean so why can't Star Wars and Star Trek co-exist in the same universe.
Now that said, I do not want to got any mad, I'm just wondering since every time I hear people talking about Star Trek and Star Wars together they say.
In the Star Trek universe and in The Star Wars universe, and because I'm wondering way the feds. or the Klingons can never ever meet the Jedi or the empire because their storylines would conflict.
I am sorry if this come across as being idiotic to some people, I just can't figure out why the storylines can't work together, and before some people start hating on this. I am not a total idiot, I know their too far apart in space to meet. All I want to know here, is why can't their sare the universe, cause who know's what's out there, the universe is a big place after all. I hope nobody only expains on me being a idiot, But if you do that's ok, you still won't make me mad.
The fact that you misspelled Star Trek in the thread title is going to attract flames.
Maybe in someone's fantasy fiction, the universes can exist in one realm. Other than that, fat chance.
There was an odd fan fic where the empire found a way to come fight the federation. The federation was almost beat, but I guess something happened ( never finished it.. went to the end ) I guess Q did something but the empire realized that earth was the birth place of man.. yet it made no sense to them how it could be if their civilization was older.. needless to say they left the federation broken and torn after a horrible war... in the end Q is talking to picard in a shuttle craft. Picard was wondering where the enterprise went too, and it turned out that Q ( in this words ) sent it away to a place long long ago in a galaxy far far away.. so according to this fan fic. Every human is the spawn of the crew of the enterprise as it is stranded in orbit of Coruscant, and they gave birth to humanity in the star wars universe.
WTH is what I said reading that ending, but I think it was from Stardestroyer.net I will have to go find it now.
Q reappeared with another flash of light. "You called?"
"Q, I have to know. What happened to my ship?"
"Oh yes, your ship. Always fretting over your ship. I can't believe you obsess over such things. I just told you that you have the singular honour of helping humanity take the next step in its development. But do you thank me? Do you-"
"What happened to my ship, Q?" Picard asked again, raising his voice.
Q threw his hands up in mock despair. "All right, fine. You really must learn to lighten up, Captain. But if it will make you feel better, your little ship survived. It crash-landed."
"Where?"
Q smiled. "A better question might be where and when, Mon Capitaine."
"All right, where and when did they crash-land?"
Q leaned closer. "Let's just say they ended up in a time long ago. In a galaxy far, far away. On an uninhabited planet that will someday be known ... as Coruscant."
"Why... Are you doing this? Why!? Isn't the universe big enough for the both of us? What is wrong with you people! We could work together. Why be enemies? Because we're different!? ...Is that why? Think of the things we could do. Think how strong we would be... Star Trek! ...and Star Wars... Together. There is nothing that we could not accomplish! Think about it..."
"...Why can't we all just get along?"
...

They can't exist in the same universe for a very simple reason; Star Trek is full of individuals smart enough to invent a shotgun. We can't let our cult of simple-minded child thieves clash up against common sense can we?
