The point I was trying to make is that the Gal-X can be used as an "anchor" ship. It can support the group by throwing heals and buff out, and lending some burst and lance damage to help out.

So after reading everything on here, was wondering what you guys would think of my Galaxy-X...

U.S.S. Thorgeirr (Thor's Spear)
  • 1 Phaser BA Mk XI [Acc][Dmg]x2, 2 Phaser DBB Mk XI [Acc][Dmg]x2, 1 Quantum Torp Launcher Mk XI [Acc][Dmg]x2
  • Full Aegis Set
  • 3 Phaser BA Mk XI [Acc][Dmg]x2, 1 Quantum Torp Launcher Mk XI [Acc][Dmg]x2
  • RMC, SFM, Scorpion FIghters, Shield Batteries
  • Neutronium Alloy Mk XI, Field Generator Mk XI, EPS Flow Regulator Mk XI, RCS Accelerator Mk XI
  • Induction Stabilizer Mk XI, Halon System Mk XI
  • 2 DE Distribution Manifold Mk XI
  • WPNS: 75 (89)
  • SHLD: 60 (84)
  • ENGN: 40 (54)
  • AUXL: 25 (42)
  • Tactical ENS: THY I
  • Tactical LT: FAW I, BO II
  • Engineer CMDR: EPtW I, RSP I, EPtS III, DEM III
  • Engineer LTC: EPtE I, EngT II, EPtS III
  • Science LT: SciT I, HE II

I have all of the pertinent cruiser starship skills at 7 except Exploration Cruiser and Assault Cruiser, which are at 9. Beam and Phaser weapons are at 9, as well as Torp and Quantum weapons. I have all of the Efficiency skills at 9, as well as Shield and Weapon Performance.

I try and run the cloak, set up my arch for the DBB's , HYT and the Phaser Lance, and afterwards treat her like my Galaxy-R, running broadsides and throwing salvos at the terminals of my Figure 8. Everything I have fitted I farmed and crafted myself. I have not found a decent group to run the STF's yet for my Assimilated gear. I have the Console and the Engine, but that's it. Plus, the Aegis stuff is amazing for my tank, I love it.

I'd swap out the Aegis shields for the Borg shields, I'd also switch out a console for the Borg assimilated console if you have one. It will improve hull regen. Plus they nerfed Covariants in season 4.

Like I said, I don't have the Assimilated shield, so that's a no-go. However, which console would you swap out? The Deflector Field one?

EDIT: Oh, and how were Covariants nerfed? That's a bad thing for me to hear, as I'm built for a huge buffer-tank...

I'd ditch the Induction Stabilzers. I don't see any of your skills going towards it, and that Borg Assimilated Console has WAY too many things going for it. My engineer consoles are similar to yours, except that I run two Neutronium Alloy Mk XI sacrificing the EPS Flow Regulator . I havent noticed much of a power loss, and if I do get drained, I pop a battery anyways.

I would definately get KA done for the Borg Shield. If you have to, put an add up in the forums looking for a group to do it. Just make sure everyone can communicate on voice and that theyre team players.

Since season four started, I noticed the enemy tearinging through my Aegis shield much quicker than usuall (PvP). I talked to some other guys that I knew where using and all Aegis setup and they said the same thing too. They had switched to the Borg Shields and were getting better results. Also some guys on forum were saying that Covariants got taken down a notch as well. When I switched to the Borg Shield (keeping the rest Aegis) , I notciced I waskeeping my shield about as long and regening them quicker.

Yeah, the Induction Stabilizer is for Science team, the only other Science power I have. That's what I was thinking for the swap.

I've been trying to get KA done, but either I have no time to do it, or there's no one around for a PuG.

In your opinion, would it be better to swap out the Field Generator for a Field Emitter? To compliment the Assimilated Shield and the 2nd passive?

I'd keep the EPS just for BO III and the Lance; it helps get me back up to full power quicker.

I.M.H.O., +35% Shield capacity is much more usefull than a +12 regen' . If you make your "bowl" larger by 35%, you have more in the "bowl" to take care of you before you have to start worrying about refilling it.

As far as K.A. goes, are you in a fleet?

Yeah, I'm in a fleet, and we're gearing up to start doing weekly STF runs, so hopefully my Assimilated gear will be complete soon.

So... a good change would be Assimilated Impulse Engines, Assimilated Shield Array, Deflector Array Mk XI [Def] [DefF] [HS], and swap out my Induction Stabilizer for the Assimilated Console?

Or should I stick with the Assimilated Deflector Array? Is the Tractor Beam that good to have?

Also, do my skills and power levels look good? What about my BOff powers?

As far as the Klinks in Ker'rat... I don't bother fighting them. The unbalanced ships I can live with, but the tactics (wait until I'm engaged vs Borg then jump me from behind) are just despicable. I realize they may be at a numeric disadvantage vs Feds, but if being a Klingon Warrior is all about fighting with honor then the Klinks I've run into have none. If I get into a zone with a lot of Klinks I'll either switch to another one or leave and come back later.
Yes, and if you fight back and give them a bloody nose they run !! Klingon honor LOL
