I've run a gal-x since they were released and have enjoyed it very much. I'm set up for the alpha strike as well as tanking, and don't usually have an issue parking next to v'ger of borg out there and staying in the fight (no PvP for me). The thing I have yet to see addressed is keeping crew levels up. I find it helps a lot when you can keep your crew level up in staying in the fight, but since they took that recharge ability out of tac team I've been hurting. I use biofunction monitors in both science slots, and an inertial dampener console to help keep the crew up. I also am mindful to let it recharge between fights. I never turn "black" on a crew bar image, and while I go yellow a lot it takes a lot less time to recharge than if that bar goes black.

I've got the borg complete set and 2 dual cannons + 1 beam +harpeng up front and 3 turrets + harpeng in the back. I enjoy the setup because when I come out of cloak fire rains down and I can stay in the fight after that strike too. I know I need to detail the full setup to completely understand what I'm doing but I mainly wanted to get the crew comment in.

aux to sIF 3 is also great especially if you run high aux power....
Hey, I fly the Dreadnought Cruiser and I have made it tank successfully, can take on right now 4 ships at one time in general. You just have to work through the glitches. Currently I am the flagship in the fleet, Section 8, and have been for over 3 months now. The ship will work, but will work great with a engineer as I am and skilled up correctly.

Not per se. Engineers in Nebula's can tank just as well or perhaps even better. Several reason for it; You can utilize both high Science heal abilities as well as high Engineering abilities.

You get a Commander Science, you can fit in TSS3, HE2, 2x SS if you want. Even TSS3 + 2 and SS + HE
Then you still have an Engineering Lieutenant commander station and a (universal) Engineering Lieutenant commander station.

(2x EptS chained, Aux2Sif, or 2x Aux2damp for that matter) and even a Reverse shield polarity.

Starcruiser comes very close to this in terms of Bridge officer stations, thats true.

Nebula loses abit of hull points but gain alot of shield bonus, you get more capacity AND regeneration, so even better for tanking. Since shield tanking is the most viable thing space, its probably the best support healer and tanker (or zombie tanker) if installed properly.

That being said, if you really wanna be a zombie cruiser/tank you can eventually run like this; 25/50/25/100 which (in my case) effectively gives 50/95/61/124 so your science heals will always have a full 100% effect on you, or someone else. And with 2x EptS chained you will have both your Shield and aux about 125~ which gives you an all time maximum shield resistance and regeneration. Combine this with the Borg shield +35 cap console and the two borg passive heal bonusses, you are settled :p
Thats awesome tanking :p

Nebbys have the potential to be the best tanks:
- EPtS 2 + 3, RSP
- FBP 3
- TSS 3 + 2, Hazards

There's alot of stuff that you can do with a Neb'. Although I wouldn't want to use it for DPS.

Starcrusier = Tank / Healing = extra sci station
Assault = Tanking / DPS = Extra Tact station, also has better EPS transfer... <-- i think its a bug.
Galaxy Dred = Flying Coffin.. <--- sorry these guys pop too easy if spec'd for DPS... if ur tank dred.. then you suck at DPS.

Sorry, but it is a flying coffin... you get 1 arc... after that, an escort will play ring around the rosie with you, and if its a MVAM, your straight up screwed.
LOLz to flying coffin
