How do i do this as in assigning name and registery to a starship

You can't really change the Registry number of NPC ships or affect the player's ship in any way. What you can do is change the name of NPC Contacts or individual actors in NPC Groups. Look at the interface and you should see text fields for the contact/actor name.

well i know how to assigned the sensor name my problem is that my contact ship has no registery or name its just a bunch of 9's and 8's

OK, I think I totally misunderstood the part in bold. What do you mean a bunch of 9's and 8's, do you have a screen shot, or could you publish the mission so we could check it out?

well it needs a ton of more features anyway feels like im playing the Demo version of a toolset

it really needs more triggers too making a contact ship engage hostiles and such such would be nice

If you take a look at the Foundry road map, I think you'll find a great deal that will change and be added. It's just that these things take time... a lot of time.
