Not sure if they changed the filming process for the later seasons and/or if that would make it easier to upscale/remaster them.

Honestly, I don't recall when the broadcast quality digital Betacam SP format was introduced into te industry - given TBG started in 1987 - the first few seasons COULD be on analog betacam SP; and the later seasons were recorded on digital batacam SP.
