I was looking for some help. I am currently using an array, torp, DHC fore, torp, array aft.

Is this decent or should I use a different build? I have been mostly using Cruisers and am new to escorts.

Seems workable, but I'd wager you'll find (DHCx2+Torp; Arrayx2) overall more useful. I drop the aft torp simply because by the time your rear is facing them, you're using on the opposite side from where you were shooting (with the cannons), and are thus facing (possibly undamaged) shields.

I ran mine with CRF1-2 with Tac 1, eng/sci is usual stuff for an escort. Toss on 2 dhc and a torpedo with a couple turrets on the back since you need as much forward firepower and usefulness out of your limited tac boffs.

With all MK X very rare pvp gear i could take down VA/RA klinks 1vs1 in my akira as a VA. I ran the aegis set on it since it has far lower shields and hull i went for the highest defense/speed combo i could. When you get hit it will hurt badly but you can still dish out the pain.

You might like regen shields more since the limited boffs make it a pain to fully recharge covariant type shields. A borg set on them is quite nice as it will refill your shields without needing lots of boff powers to do it.
