The mechanic works same as before, it's just that you can do the second burst faster (-2s). It was deadly before, it will be a little more deadlier now. It won't affect ships with single tube.

You mean if everyone has 2 tubes ?Well the difference is 2s, from what is possible now and what would be if the change is implemented. I'm fairly sure, even the first salvo from 5 people would be enough in this scenario.
The difference is most obvious in single ship doing 2x HYT spike, because it will take 1s instead 3s to launch those torps. But since they also need to cover the distance to target, there is time to have shields up. If not, the first HYT would probably kill the target anyway.
The change basically makes multiple tubes more "bursty", instead just improving their fire rate (dps).

Yessir, that'll be the ticket. It'll be most effective on bops and mvams because now they can shoot 2 HY bursts while the opponent's shockwaved.
Last time I checked you could do you it as well. It just required more delicate timing, now you have extra 2s. So nothing new, just made easier....
I don't know if this was an intentional change or not, but on Tribble right now you can preload both HY and TS, or 2x HYs once the global goes through, on each torp. So depending on circumstances, it's much easier than even just 1 sec. Now you can double Tab outright too, so the -firing- part is also two secs easier.

Yes i noticed that as well. Its rather interesting change, but i think its more unintentional byproduct. although it really benefits several launchers.
Its nice with 3 photon tubes, tactical inititave + HYT, 15s later Spread, have all loaded till last moment, shoot both and have another hyt ready 2-3s after. So thats pretty much the max potential hehe.
But overall i like the idea of more bursty fire sequence of several tubes, it's just that it creates possible awful scenarios.
