With the revamp you'll be able to do this anyway.....

I'm anxiously awaiting the skill point revamp. As things stand now you can be really good in space or really good on ground, spending points evenly between the two results in a mediocre character for both areas.

I would glady pay 800-1000 points to have this feature.

Personally its all about sometimes I want to fly my MVAE and sometimes I want to fly my Galaxy and not have to completley respec each time.

(I'm aware that I could just have two characters to do this but I want to be able to do it on one character)
I totally supoport this idea.

I would pay 2,000 CP for it, but it will never happen, because respec tokens are the number one best selling, most profitable C-Store item Cryptic has at the moment. They're not going to sell you a razor blade that lasts for ten years when they're making money hand-over-fist on the ones that last a week.

Sure sounds like pay to win to me. to say nothing of how unbalanced that would be when compared to people that don't buy it

Where is THIS pay to win?
He doesnt get more skillpoints, he just can have diffrent builds. Everyone can have each "good" build in the first place.

Mhm... partially... But most people buy respec to change a ship type (that falls away soon anyway) or to improove their builds... espoecially the later one wouldnt change with dual specs. Or would you "waste" a secondary spec, especially if it costs like you suggestet 2000CP, if you found out how to build a better one?
May be ppl would even buy MORE respecs to keep the multible builds "up to date"

you just explained why its pay to win. if you can switch your build at will because you paid to be able to do so and someone else can't, you have bought a significant advantage over the other person. that is pay to win

The other person can "switch builds at will" by going back to ESD to see the trainer and spending a respec token. The reasonable way to implement dual spec would require the same thing, minus the respec token (but you would still need to burn a token in order to change the SP allocation within one of your two "builds"). The only thing it would change is that visiting the trainer would take 10 seconds instead of 10 minutes, and you wouldn't have to blow 400 CP every time you do it (just 2,000 CP or whatever it costs to unlock the feature for all toons on an account).

Either way it's moot; Cryptic will never give up the respec token revenue.

I see this happening becouse there is just to much money in the F2P system, it would mean 2 crews and 2 ships plus respec tokens would be need twice as much. Only question is when?
