Speaking about important skills, what about attack vectors, Combat manevours and Starship battle strategy. Are those also imporant as "basic" skills. I know they are rather important on Escort but what about Science and Cruiser ships?

As a Tactical in escort It's basically a must have since It's improves your attack patterns. I'd say Tac/Cruiser too. No idea about science though.. :/ It's tricky!

I thought the performance skills were on a 1:1 ratio? Being that every point spent in the skill gives you a direct 1 point power bonus.

So did I, until I got the STO starship power calculator. 8/9 and 9/9 both give me the same power levels, 7/9 drops it by 1. At 5/9 I only have 3 less power than 9/9, but free a ton of SP.
