Those of you who may be interested in PVP in any way, please if you fly any ship with a Cloaking Device, or Enhanced Cloaking device, do NOT use scramble sensors. For those of you who may NOT know, Scramble Sensors in PVP, unlike PVE, will reveal you and your cloaked friends to the enemy. It will also allow the enemy to chase you should you try to cloak and run.

Also, for the Non Cloaking ships, please if you see Cloakers, try to not use scramble sensors if they are cloaking. It can, and will get them killed. This includes the new Antimatter Spread console for you Fed alts out there. Thank you, and have a great day!

So if I use Scramble Sensors it make my target able to see other cloaked ships on my team?
Is this a bug based off the mechanic of thier heals/buffs going to Me and My team while their attacks go to thier teammates?

If you use Scramble on a Fed from a cloaked B'rel-R, the Fed, and any other Feds that got affected by the Scramble Sensors (regardless of version), will be able to see you while they are scrambled.

IF you use scramble sensors on a target. And while they are scrambled, you try to run away, cloaking up, if they are still scrambled, they will be able to see you, and maybe even chase you down..

Edit: It is suspected to be a Bug of the power. Your guess is as good as mine as to the exact cause of it.

I'd send in some bug reports because that honestly sounds like it shouldn't happen. And hey they'll fix it! It effects Defiants to!

No, it certainly shouldn't happen and yes, it has been reported repeatedly through the ticket system and all over the forums. The PvP forum has several lengthy discussions on this very issue, in addition to several other problems. As of right now, they are working on Scramble Sensors but in all of their suggestions I have yet to see a Dev mention a fix for the exposure of cloaked ships.

But please, if more people file tickets maybe this issue won't be passed over.

Yep, no reason not to continue to report the bug as you witness it/test to prove theory it..

But still, as suggested, please be cautious with your scramble sensors as a Klingon. Other wise the next person that gets blown up because of your scramble sensors, could be you!

I had heard rumors of this but no explanation of its effects until now.
Well this explains why it seems so easy for some of these SS spamming players to find me 20km away when I am trying to wait out the effects of SS in my BoP BECAUSE MY SCIENCE OFFICER IS TOO STUPUD TO PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE CONSOLE IN FRONT OF HIM AND COUNTER IT.
Its an improvised cloak detector. Thats just silly.

Yeah this needs to be fixed, like many other things.

Just to be absolutely clear, since it isn't from your post above. SS isn't something you can use to find cloaked ships, it is something that enables your enemy to see your allies cloaked ships (and you if you cloak). So in your example of the SS spamming player above, he would not get to see you while cloaked but you would get to see his cloaked allies.

i.e. If a red team player scrambles a blue team player. The blue team player can now see (and shoot at) any cloaked red team ships that are in range, you have effectively switched of your allies cloaking devices by firing off scramble sensors.

This bug is believed to originate from scramble sensor's mechanic, which when you are hit with it, makes everyone else show as ally, which is why you can heal the enemy while scrambled and thus why you can see their cloaked ships - because you can always see cloaked allies.

This bug while being highly annoying to KDF players (since more of them fly cloaking ships than Fed do players), makes scramble sensors the only power (that I am aware of) that can benefit your enemy when you fire it on them and is long overdue a fix.
