Many of the changes on the UI are great. I love the new Overview and Missions tabs. The Overview gives you a look at the different kinds of missions and does what it can to explain things. The Missions tab shows current and upcoming missions and even lets you select to Replay missions without the need to Visit the Bridge. Great additions. Kudos!
My problems however are these.
1. Remote Contacts (keybind) defaults to the Available tab, instead of the In Progress tab as it did previously. Not only that, but though it defaults to the Available tab view, it doesn't show anything even if there is something available until you change tabs and then change back. The Remote Contacts link should continue to default to the In Progress tab as it does on Live (Holodeck).
2. The Hail Starfleet button (button with the Delta on it to the left of the mini map) defaults to the Overview tab. While the Overview tab is nice, it is not essential and should not be the default when you are trying to "Hail Starfleet". When I click Hail I want to see my contacts, not an Overview. This also should default to the In Progress tab.
3. The Missions UI is no longer adjustable to smaller sizes. It can be made larger, but not smaller. This is a problem for me because I like to shrink various UI windows (Social, Fleet, Map, Mission, Interaction) and line them up behind each other, so that they all pop-up in the same location (left side above my Chat UI). I never need to see any two of these windows at once and I like to continue to see as much of the view of my ship/character environment as possible when checking these things. I would like to keep this option, however if the Mission UI is no longer resizable, I will be forced to figure out somewhere else to put it.
It seems that by default the devs seem to think ever one wants all of these things really big. Is it just me that likes them smaller? Is it just me that would rather be able to see where I am going and check out the Map (Friends list, Fleet rankings, etc.) at the same time?
