I have a feeling a T5 Akira Refit might be coming after all the lower Tier ships get completed. It was something ThomastheCat said in an interview a few months back that leads me to believe this.

This makes so much sense and is so desirable they'll never do it.

How DO us players get things we want? The polls never got us anything, nor have any threads I've ever seen. Do the designers actually care what we want? If so, I haven't seen it demonstrated.

By the way, should we NOT sign when we post in this thread?

theres even an open niche for an escort with a LTCOM engineering station, no other ship would fill it better.

I disagree with you. Many things "we" have wanted have been added to the game. There are issues involved, though.

First, "we" do not all want the same things. What you want in the game might not be what I want, so, at times, we are really two different groups of "we."

Second, there are IP constraints that both Cryptic and CBS have to take into account. For example, many people want a higher Tiered TOS Connie. Cryptic has asked about it and CBS said no. Cryptic asked about making the Enterprise J and CBS said no - the no about the J is what lead to the Enterprise F contest.

Finally, we cannot all have what we want. We do not own the Strek Trek IP or Cryptic. Klingon players want 1,000 new Klink Missions. Fed players want 1,000 new Fed Missions. PvPers want 1,000 new PvP Mission. Everyone wants something. Cryptic only has X number of people who can produce Y number of things each month. There is no way to make everyone happy.

Some of those things just don't make sense. The Connie, NX, and J are all the wrong time period. I think we can all agree on wanting more content and factions; we had a poll on that a long time ago but nothing seems to be happening with it. Some have wanted Ambassador class and Sovereign dreadnaughts and that we'd pay for them but instead we get more poor originals like the Venture. Though I hate the Odyssey class, I understand why some like it; however the whole F affair has just been a giant distraction that they are spending forever on. Forever on a ship and crew when they should be focussing on content and gameplay. The F will not bring in players, improving the gaming experience will. I've found it interesting that with every update several things stay on the back burner while new things are added to the "in testing" list.

Sure you can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time, but how about giving everyone SOMETHING they like? Give us Tier 5 Akiras, Ambassadors, Sovereign Dreadnaughts. I guarantee they sell in the C Store better than the Cryptic originals. Tell CBS such things will make the game money. $$$ tends to get people's attention.

I guess you really do not understand that likes are subjective. There are people who would hate T5 Akiras, Ambassadors, and Sovereign Dreadnoughts just as much as you would love them - just as their are people who loved the new Venture skin that you dislike the Venture.

All you are really saying here is that "I want what I want and hate what I do not want, so only give us what I want." It just does not work that way unless, as I said above, you are the one who owns the Star Trek IP or Cryptic.

The problem with your argument that they're "wasting" all this time on creating the F when they should be making new content is that the F is new content. They've said that the plan is to develop the F to the point where teh ship and it's crew become regular recurring elements in future stories.

I hate the Venture but if people want another Galaxy variant, let them have it. It doesn't offend me if others fly around in a ship I find to be an ugly repackage. But why NOT make tier 5 Akiras, sov refits, and ambassadors because some hate those? Make products because players want them, don't NOT make them because others don't. If you don't like something, don't buy it, but fighting the implementation of something other players want is childish, impedes variety, and suppresses growth.
