Gosg Cryptic, I'd like to see a Tier 5 Sao Paulo Defiant.

And a tier 5 saber escort..

pretty please????

Except for that they posses new consoles and toys, there are pretty much useless on end game

I'd say keep the akira at t3/4. At least we'll hear more of the community complain.

Oh and its nice buying a tier 2 ship for the one single day I'm Lieutenant Commander.

Again Cryptics sole purpose are the newlings that come to this game when \F2P hits, all us end game users are being driven away. GG

This may be off topic, but does anyone know why Zombie619 got banned? I was having a good conversation with him in my thread and before I know it he's been banned...

Sigh,

If the game is going to go that route, might as well offer every hull from the beginning of the game and allow everyone to pick the hull they want to level from Start to Finish.

The leveling process would simply be a case of opening weapon and bridge slots on the ship as you level up. Incidentally, this removes the entire need for ship tokens and dilithium shortages since folks only need to buy one ship in all their lifetime.

The Dilithium would go towards UPGRADING the ship as time progresses which is far more sensible.

Oh wait... I forgot that would cheat Cryptic of C-Store garbage of offering ships at every tier folks buy throughout the leveling process.

Allow me to fist-bump to the rythm of this post.

Given cryptic's tiered system, I have long supported the idea that Tier-6 should be the "Everything Old Is New Again" concept; the player build his own starship hull from thr ground up, be it Constitution, Miranda, Akira, or anything.

T6 is supposed to be the big fleet command ships: Juptier & Typhoon Dreadnoughts being examples of them.

Cryptic has said that for T6 they want to make the rank "fleet admiral" and implement a system whereby you have an actual fleet, essentially an "away team in space".

How can we convince cryptic that they need to re-look at this ship and to generate a tier 5 version with out breaking "forum rules"?

any ideas greatly appreciated
Maybe it's just me and I'm missing your point, but...why are you "in love" and have an obsession with the Akira Class? There's really nothing distinguishable about it that it deserves to be T5. What is so special that it deserves T5 status? I could understand your point if the ship has not yet been introduced into the game and it was a fan-favorite among the hardcore Star Trek fans, then I could see pushing for T5 status.

I think the issue at hand here is that Cryptic has gotten themselves SO locked into the Tier system in this game that they have eliminated any possibilities to get out of it.

So what that means is even though we the players request something, even if it makes complete and total sense from a canon perspective AND a gameplay perspective, Cryptic can't give it to us without completely invalidating the Tier tree and exposing just how utterly wrong it is and how little it makes sense.

Sorry guys, but the T5 Akira is DOA. Once the T3.5 version comes out, it's game over for the Akira fans.

In case you haven't notices there's both t3 and t5 excelsiors and nebulas in the game and the word is that the t3 excelsior is getting a .5 upgrade just like the other +1 ships. My guess is the nebula is too. Based on that there's no reason why there couldn't be a similar t3/t5 akira set up at some point.

People could say the same thing with your ambassador obsession.

Based on your explanation however, there would be 3 versions of the Akira.

T3, T3.5 (still coming) and T5.

How is that like the Nebula or Excelsior?

Nope, Cryptic is gonna use the Akira to round out the T3 escorts with a x.5 upgrrade, and that's it. There will be no T5 Refit.

Don't get me wrong, I would have no issue with a T5 Akira, or a T5 of ANY of the modern ships in game. But sadly, it's just not gonna happen. Cryptic is too tied to this system, and it's concrete now.

The game has a t4, t4.5, and t5.5 galaxy and will soon have the same set up for intrepid and defiant. If the game can deal with galaxy, defiant, and intrepid each having 3 sub-tiers I'm sure it can deal with akira having 3 as well.
