DON'T PANIC!!! C-Store ships are still account wide. Confirmed by Stephen D'Angelo. Any ship that isn't account wide is a bug.

But there is a daily limit on how much Dilithium you can turn into it's cash form.

At least that ships still being account wide is a good thing.

You do realize that, even though you aren't the official rank of Captain, you are called Captain because you command the ship, right?

$1513 USD for the rank 9 set (total 6 pieces.)

Each piece can be refined from +0 - +12

http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Refining

Dragon orbs are sold in their c-shop:

at $0.30 per level 1 dragon orb. You need a total of 10,140 for a +12 refine. Thats $3042 a refine.

Dragon Orb +10's occasionally go on sale for $30-$50 a pop.

So you can cut down a +12 refine to be 10x(+10) + the stuff needed to forge a +11 and +12 orb.

The cost is 10x (+10) + 4050x(+1):
$300 + $1215 a +12 refine.

Players go around in that game with full +12 armors for a grand spanking total of $9090 USD.

In addition to the 6 pieces granted, there is additionally 6 piece of equipment that is retrieved from other mechanics in the game. This equipment is gotten through "packs" that sell 50 for $18 USD. Each pack has a ultra rare chance to give game-imbalancing equipment not filled by the rank 9 set.

http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Socketing

Each piece of armor comes with 2 - 4 sockets. Each socket can have a gem which apparently adds stats to the character. The best gems in game are attainable through the aforementioned "packs". It can take an average of $200 worth of try's to roll a good gem. 6x4x$200=$4800

So, bull****? No. $4000 is the low-end of the end-game gear. In reality you need much more than $8000 to be good.

There is a reason why its their flagship game. Its their cashcow.

Hey wait a minute. I though the F2P model was the best thing to ever happen to MMO's since slice bread. Why all the discontent? This is what everyone wanted based on what I've witnessed from all the glowy, pro F2P threads. /endsarcasm

Pretty much the time IS NOW for buying up stuff. I have the money...but I almost don't want to waste it, especially after buying the Collector's Edition of TOR :p . I'm really against all this P2W ship crap...but I guess I'll either be forced to put aside my thoughts to get one of those ships now through cash...or wait for the looooooooooooooong grind.....ah screw it, I'll stick with my morals (unlike Cryptic) and not buy those ships....I'd rather be at a disadvantage for having morals and ethics.

Except that you do not actually have to buy all that Gold with money. Just as in STO you can grind out and sell your coin for Gold on the Auction house. I mean do you really believe that Chinese gamers who make less then $5,000 a year spent $8,000 on equipment for 1 game? Really? Really, really?

No you dont have to buy all that gold with real money. Real money is just the way to do it faster. Otherwise, to attain the same level of equipment you need to invest 10 minutes - 1 hour per instance run for the equivalent of 400,000 in game units of currency. The conversion rate from in game currency to gold is hovering at 1.1 million to 1.6 million due to the auction style they use to convert.

The gold supply is fixed by the amount of dollars in USD. Someone else has to buy the gold with USD before you can buy the gold from them in game. So when the supply of people buying gold with US currency goes down, the in-game exchange rate skyrockets.

To make $8000 USD worth of equipment requires anywhere from 3333-20,000 hours of gameplay. At that point you need to question whether or not playing for less than minimum wage or spending money is the solution.

And furthermore Perfect World International is meant for anyone outside of China, minus the philipines. China's gamers cant afford $5000 USD. They use a pay-to-play model instead: http://www.wanmei.com/
