You speed up the XP rate and leveling up to warp speed, so that players will be at Endgame in even less then a month.
It is so fast that there is no time at all to enjoy the lower levels, get proper gear for those levels or be able to play on Elite, because your low level gear sux.
but
you slow down the Economy to 1/4 impuls by putting a dailie limit on it.
the DXP grind takes forever
the DOff system takes forever...
earning good gear at any level below VA1 takes longer than it is even usefull and at Endgame... Months!
please dont get me wrong here, i am not complaining about one specific thing, i talk about the OVERALL FEEL of the game.
you rip it apart into
SUPER FAST
and
EXTREMELY SLOW
and there is nothing between the 2.
i don't get it.
what is the purpose of this?
It was the same thing when i played DCUO,
after the free 30 days and rushing to Endgame the cool gear would take months and months to get,
so i did just quit that game because it felt like a waste of time+money from that point on. (and it wasn't realy my kind of themepark either.)
That is the most common reaction those kind of games result in.
If this is what you are shooting for, than i don't know if the beloved "casual" crowd that you keep trying to attract for 2 years now (without much luck) will stay around for that long even with F2P.
And your core fans, that have invested way to much already in this game, and have a little bit of brain left and don't totally suck at math already see what you want to put them through, to get what they are used to getting very easy.
At Endgame the Veterans will have the best gear already, and the F2P Players will have low level gear or just "common" Mk IX stuff etc.
PvP will become way more unbalanced this way.
also here is an idea:
if you want to make us work for MONTHS to get geared up.
then how about, you add NEW awesome gear all over the game that is actually worth the time and doesn't completely and totally SUCK?
I don't mean one new STF SET of Items that everyone will have in no time...
Add 2 Rarities ABOVE Purple.
Add Items up to Mk XIII
Add Items with unique Visuals, proper TNG Phaser Rifles and what not...
all the stuff everyone wanted from the start of the game and you keep holding out on us.
Give us the next 10 ranks to level up further with it.
Make us WANT to get that gear... and not say "omg that will be so much harder now to get".
NEW COOL STUFF, i would gladly spend more time and grinding on to get.
But the same crappy gear i have for months now, is suddenly getting super hard to get without getting any better?
Nope... that just ain't working for me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the speed of the XP is for us testers to get through all the levels and test different aspects of the game, and it should lower on holodeck.

This is correct. Speed leveling is for testing only. A good number of Doff Assignments are level restricted. In order to test those we have to be those levels. Thus speed leveling. It will be reduced signficantly once it goes live.
