Seems like biggest complaints so far is not enough perks for subs and the hardline story arc progression.
How about if we allowed Golds to not be restricted to linear progression. I think this would make the game seem less grindy for subs and be a notable advantage over silvers without gimping them.
Any thoughts?

Agreed, no gold subsriber should be forced into rail levelling, give us back the freedom of an mmo to do what we want, when we want and how we want.

I am all for this, (have been since day one.) However I haven't seen a dev comment one way or another. For all we know it may be locked to force us though all missions on tribble to bug test, and they may have no intention of locking down the missions like this. It would be nice to get some clarification though.

This I completely agree with. The whole on rails thing is annoying. I like being able to do specific missions for specific rewards instead of completely an entire arc before I can do a different one.

Though I agree, there is no way that Cryptic will ever do this, they will either come to their senses like Netflix did and remove a lot of this grindy garbage or they will ignore the wishes of the players and do as they want, which is what they have always done.

Star Trek could have been a competitive game but due to poor management, poor planning, rushing like crazy 'cause they said they could, and being dismissive to customer issues, it is nothing but an "also ran".

I wish to congratulate Cryptic on taking one of the deepest and most exciting Intellectual Properties and turning it into a tedius grindfest full of not-fun and repitition worthy of a sweathouse factory.

Overall I like many of the changes they are making, just need some better balance on some of them. Dilithium is better then all the different marks we had but the prices are out of line with how much we make but the devs have already said they are going to fix that.

I like the doff system but it is a little buggy and the devs are working on that. The new journal window for finding missions is nice along with the special events every hour and the borg invasions I just want the mission arcs to not lock you out of any other arcs.

I see most of the problems as pretty minor and trivial to fix. Overall though I do have fun playing the game and like it more then other MMOs right now. Some things on tribble on more grindy then holodeck that is for sure but many of those things are also being adressed. If you need to get dilithium though the Fed Mirror event is a great thing to do while the fed academy event is currently very poor until it is fixed.

Look I understand your frustration but please don't use this topic to pass judgment on Cryptic... this is a Beta server and this is a beta version. As someone beta testing f2p I'm trying to offer constructive options and I'd love nothing more than to keep this on that topic.... there are plenty of other threads for you to voice your displeasure.

I don't see why they wouldn't do it... this isn't a money issue. They won't lose any C-store purchases by implementing this. It's a win win. Apease subs.... and not gimp Silvers... if there is a technical reason it can't be done, I'd like to know..... but otherwise I think this proposal has merit.

Overall I suggest keeping suggestions as positive as possible. There is so much negativity in MMO forums regardless of how well or badly a game is doing that people just tune it out. I am not sure how or why it happened but MMO forums tend to be cesspools of negativity and it sure would be nice if that changed.

Overall I see cryptic doing a pretty good job with this game. I think it is a lot better then at launch and many things continue to improve and test servers usually have a bunch of bad ideas that never make it live.

It is actually very cool that cryptic has a public test server. With everquest 1 and 2 you don't have a public test server and instead VERY bad things go live which are patched over the next 6 months until the next expansion comes out.
