Looked more Trek-like, less souped up and doesnt have those light edging which gives it a yucky look. What happened to this UI? Why do so many MMOs have cool UIs before launch..then closer to launch they change the UIs into much less appealing UIs?
Regardless, I thought I would call Cryptic out on this mistake of theirs. This old pre launch UI looked superior to the current one we have now. And I only wish we could get a UI like this back. Why did I create this thread? I dont know, my pipe dream is that we could get a UI that actually felt Trekkish back. Like...one with real LCARs influence.
That may have been why they changed it, but if we can scale the UI it wouldnt be much an issue.
even without for me I wouldn't care I play EVE which is called exel spread sheets online for a good reason, more than 2/3 of my screen is UI, but it does all it needs to do and here in STO I often find myself cursing at the UI.
I would like to see an LCARS hud/ui and at the same time clean and not too overwhelming.
and proper old school LCARS, not this awful blue stuff, I still run the mod to change the console panels and all because the blue hurts my eyes. (any colours hurts the eyes when used to much)
Use the UI Scale slider and hit F12. You can replicate that UI fairly easy...
IMO, it looks a little stretched out and all over the place. Especially on a huge screen like that, I prefer the controls in one spot for easy quick access. Otherwise its back to "more spacebar!" lol
