Also, the BOFF recommendations on the DOFF assignments are awesome. Nice job with that guys!
Thank you for confirming it was a communications issue. Time to put away the pitchforks on that issue, at least.

Now about this Dilithium Crafting...

Seriously, crafting costs dilithium now? Why? What is the Reason? So you already have it gaited by the horrendous time-based way materials (both anomalous data and particle traces) are collected so we are double gaiting it? This makes no sense whatsoever especially with a dilithium refinement cap and is going directly against what you are saying that dilithium is a time based currency. If this goes live it will do serious damage to the crafting system (which needed to be overhauled not gaited).

Here is how, players have already invest a great deal of time doing the monotonous collection of materials for crafting, more time than you think. The only thing that makes "harvesting" moderately fun is the mini-game and the fact we can get daily Doff assignments. You added the multiphasic event to break that up, but in actuality you get less of your target materials. I have done extensive testing while leveling my toon on tribble and if I want Purple Anomalies, I am better off waiting until the event is over. I will get more then. Now you are asking for double time investment for crafting? Time to get the anomalies and time to get the dilithium? That is where your previous stance does not make sense. People have already invested time in the game to get the "anomaly" currency (yes anomalies and traces are currencies for crafting because we do not have a real crafting system - it is an item trade). So which is is Cryptic? Is dilithium a time based currency or has it's intention (which we all fear) changed to something else?

I ask as a player that you guys STOP messing with the already ingame systems unless you are making them better. Crafting/Resource collection in this game is pretty poor already compared to the suite of MMOs out there. Your focus should be how to make those systems better when it come to F2P, not gaiting them. The more things you hook up to dilithium the more gameplay will be gaited. That is a fact, many people will log on to play just to get their 8k dilithium and that is it. You are setting the F2P launch up for failure by not expanding these systems, but rather gaiting and contracting them.

Look, you guys need to step back and take a serious look at the content and systems in this game, what 68 actual missions on the Fed side and half of that on the Klingon side. None of those offer dilithium or scaling rewards so repeatability is low on those. With an 8k dilithium cap and the quantities needed for crafting, few people will be doing that. If you launch F2P will only ~100 episodes (missions) and systems that are not polished you are begging for trouble. For this launch I expected things like:
  • Polish and revamp of Exploration
  • Polish and revamp of Crafting
  • Additional Story-arcs/themeparks
  • Additional PvP maps
  • Additional Fleet Actions
  • New Sectors or two
  • New Systems
  • More things to do in social areas

You know, things for people to do in game to make them want to pay a sub or purchase things on the C-Store. Now the event system is nice and a good addition (albeit some of the events need tweaking but only the griefing concerns from the community have been addressed). The Doff system is fantastic and kudos to Heretic. That is perfect content for any stage of the game. At this point even comission some of the existing highly rated foundry episodes as the Story-Arc and just polish them. You need to focus on the things I mentioned above as well as the C-Store/money system. If you don't, in the end what will happen with a lack of things to do in game, and what to do is gaited at every turn your F2P launch will fail. "Silvers" will just give the game a cursory glance, see what it lacks and then move on. They will tell other players their thoughs of the game etc... It will be hard to impossible to win them back once you lose them.

        • Saucer Separation is not a Console item.
        • Added Science Console slot.

        • Guramba is now a Destroyer Class.
        • Added Engineer Console slot.
        • No console Item added.
In order to bring these ships in line with other existing single-ship-use consoles such as the MVAM Advanced Escort console, I would suggest either making their special powers console items to go into their extra slots, or removing the console item from the MVAM Advanced Escort and making that a built-in power for that ship. The former would probably be preferable since the current MVAM console item can only go on the regular or C-Store Advanced Escort, although that is still technically the same ship, just with a slightly rearranged BOff layout.

In addition, I would also suggest giving the Dreadnaught Cruiser and Guramba an extra weapon slot, and making the Spinal Lance and Guramba Siege Weapon special weapon items that can only be used on those ships (Siege Mode transformation being converted into a console item, much like the MVAM console).

The currency tangible reward for doing lots of star trek-canon exploration is gone, and now too the crafting tangible reward of exploring and scanning anomalous findings is shot too.

But we can still prat about with academy NPCs fighting holo-klingons to earn our gear. Once every 6 hours or so. Or we can log on for 5 minutes, prod some papers, send DOffs out to do things and log off again to earn our gear.

Genius.

Some things I've noticed
-My T5 Excelsior (pre-existing) didn't get its console, but I've had the T3 console on it since it came out. I still have all my transwarps though.
-My T3 Nebula didn't get its console.
-My Gal-X still has its Cloaking Console

Is that not a tad limiting? Would be nice for players to have that choice of cloak or different console!

I have confirmed the changes to the Defiant R are incorrectly stated in the notes (or not properly implemented in this build).

My Defiant-R got an extra Engineer console slot, with a Cloak console in it, that is bound and reports to be only usable on the Tactical Retrofit or the Dreadnought Refit.

On my Holodeck character that I brought into Tribble, I have the cloak console, as well as the console sold on the Thunderchild. Schweet!
