having them be targetable is ridiculous to begin with. it was a nice game play idea, but completely unworkable with how numerous and how often the weapons intended to shoot them down fire. they have a high opportunity cost already, taking so long to reload, compared to anything else you could slot in its place. the fact that they can be shot down makes them useless against any human target. nerf their damage, cut down their reload time and make them non targetable. at that point they can be properly balanced and reliably used.

* several ways to solve the Tricobalt overwhelmed by antispam defenses delima have been offered from faster, Tough to kill, mild shielding, etc - that ti doesn't need a nerf it needs love.

I, for one, still intend to use Tric's. Suicide bomber all the way. Go in, bring their shields down, fire off a Tricobalt at close range, and if I take enough damage, Ramming Speed to finish the job.

Should have left the Tricobalts alone. These guys have enough broken and buggy crap to worry about, why create yet another issue?

What boggles me the most is where was the groundswell for this change? who needed it? Did anyone actually lobby for this adjustment? It just makes no sense, since those torps are hard enough to manage anyhow, and they are too easily shot down!!!

It is also weird considering that they changed friendly fire mechanics in ground combat, so that our own plasma grenades no longer kill us and our Bridge Officers.

Now the possible outcomes seem to be
20 %: Tric/HYT Plasma explodes in your face as enemy intercepts it.
50 %: Tric/HYT Plasma is intercepted harmlessly.
20 %: Tric/HYT Plasma his your enemy and hurts both you and your enemy.
10 %: Tric/HYT Plasma hits your enemy and not yourself.

And let's better not speak from the HYT torpedo effect for Trics where the subspace rift destroyes the other High Yield Trics, and doesn't stun (but if it would be stunning, it would stun too long.)
