The bigger issue is you have to farm a broken and unbalanced pvp zone for the top end gear. Maybe cryptic should fix the stats on emblem, stf and other gear. Do they even realize how worthless a [dmg]x2 mod is?

Isn't the person who has the highest score the only one that gets purple gear in Ker'rat?
That's a lot of time spent just to get a purple.
Isn't it easier to craft gear?
When it's the daily Ker'rat is fun though. Lots of people there then.

Yes but the crafted gear sucks compared to what MIGHT drop from kerrat.

meh if you know how to run the table.. I mean instance you can knock out an instance of kerrat in 5 mins. so every 10 mins or so on a good day you've gotten 2 purples.

Crafted weapons Suck and I would sooner carry Blue X than a purple crafted XI.

Well, seems like there are always a lot of players there, and they are usually just flying around near our spawn, instead of running the mission. So i think "oh, there must be enemy players around" and stick close to my allies. Eventually i get bored and go start clearing one of the borg thingies. If i'm succesful (spelling?), someone else scans the damn thing. Sometimes i'm engagd by a decloaking klingon player and, whether i die or not, someone else scans the damn thing.

Anyway, long story short: i appreciate that it's an open pvp area, and i enjoy pvp so that's no problem, but i really can't remember the last time i got any gear from the place.

Any tips? Or is Ker'rat the domain/hunting ground of a select band, who will gank enemies engaged with borg and steal contribution with a venemous dedication (i'm not annoyed really, i actually find ker'rat a lot of fun, but the request for tips is serious)?
you must be new to kerrat welcome to PVP!

protip, you get good drops from blowing up Cubes & Spheres also. I got 2 purple weapons & a purple console in 20 minutes yesterday, & i was only killing Borg that got involved when i was killing Feds.

Isn't that the whole point of Ker'rat....killing Feds? I mean, our engines run on Fed tears.....and we need fuel.

When you have killed the last fed, you will see that corpses don't shed tears.

I wouldn't count on the Ker'rat mission objective to get you your awesome gear. Kill those Borg vessels. You need someone to bring the instance to a point where the cubes become targetable, and you can run around killing cubes to earn your gear. YOu need a DPS heavy ship, of course. Don't bother with Science Vessels. Ker'rat is pretty much like the Fleet ACtions - Escorts have the best time there. (Even scanning with them is easier!). All those Borg are 4 levels above our level, this means they drop the best loot you can find in this game. Unfortunately, of course, it's entirely random what you get, naturally. But you can sell anything you don't need on the Exchange and make someone else happy.
