As for the Sao Paulo, it was another Defiant class with modified shielding. So, it was a little special. Not much by game standards tho, as we can swap out our shields at will.
I'll admit the treaty for itsself was not a very bright move by the federation...
Well any modification the sao paolo may have had, if shielding or deflector.... was just part of the regular advancement from the original Defaint as prototype to regular (wich we, by the way, all already fly).
And for any modification towards Breen weapons in particular... that modifucation happened to every singel ship in the fleet, without it the Federation would not have been capable to continue and ultimatly win the war.
Also.... all the Discussion about the "Sao Pauls" abilitys:
For ones, the Sao Paolo class is called Sao Paulo class for beeing storywise not a Defaint class...
Also.... it is already prety much set in Stone that her ability will be the Quad cannon... And it will be a t4 ship.
Which is, ironically, the inverse of what we have in STO.
Where in ST it was one which a cloak and in STO many you're propsing to give one ship in STO what all had in ST.
So when johnnymo0829 said that was most likely the improvement the Sao Paulo had over the Defiant he mean the old model and that is actually a thing every ship has.
When you say it "MUST" have that ability, it appeared to me like you implied there was a uniqueness about it (like the cloak on the Defiant which is something no other Fed ship in the prime timeline used on a regular basis).
But since it's the opposite of that in fact (because everyone had it) that's what confused me.
To give the Sao Paulo not something actually unique but something rather common would be like giving a ship the special ability to launch a shuttle or to fly backwards.

Not really. The Breen in the game can use the energy dampener against every player ship. While it is not nearly as powerful as in DS9, it still drains ship shields. I propose that it has NO effect what so ever on the Sao Palo version.
ahhh another thread where a question was asked and everyone gets off topic haha. I'm with the OP, anyone heard any UPDATES on when this thing is due out or anything to related to its design besides quad cannons? this does not include what you think it SHOULD have or any guess haha

The ability is only used by players and its spread into 2 abilities and can be use together. Thank heavens the breen ships don't use them or there would be a great out cry to nerf them back to their home world.
The abilities are Viral matrix and energy siphon. It has been stated that the breen weapon was slit because to put something like that in the hands of a player would be too much and when this game started if you were here the evil sci captain was hell on wheels and if they had that ability it would have been much much worse. If you use those abilities together with target shield sub systems you will cause the same thing to happen in game as in DS9 no power a floating brick in space. I have done it in the intrepid and the Nebula that can kill even the toughes cruiser. Its pretty nasty but a good HY torp or spread or Beam overload and that ship is done. Add Sub nuc for cherries on top and you just made a new friend

I was refering to the Engery Syphon ability. I want the Sao Palo class varient to be immune to the effect, and THAT is what I was talking about the whole time.
