What's the rationale there? Won't spreading out the damage with AOE attacks rather than focusing down targets one by one get you killed, since you're not reducing incoming damage by unloading on a single target then moving to the next?

Rapid Fire: +30%/40%/50% Cannon damage against a single target
Scatter Volley: +15%/20%/25% full damage against up to three targets, not divided in any way. Clears heavy
plasma torps, fighters, mine spam. I'd rather do 1.200 damage to 3 targets each instead of 1.400 to a single one.

Against NPCs Scatter Volley > Rapid Fire.

Same applies to Torpedo Spread vs HY. http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...6&postcount=88

I think this would be the fastest way to level:

Just sit back and enjoy the content leveling is more important because you can more than likely level up 20 VA/LG's before anything new comes out. Otherwise you get all these max level characters and get burned out on the game and then its no fun waiting for Cryptic's corporate bureaucracy to finally getting to the point of a business to satisfy its customers (You can't have profits without customers for anyone who wants to say again over and over that its a business and it has to profit).

Stop. Just....stop. The OP stated his/her preference, which runs counter to your "suggestion". It's tired. Every time someone asks for advice in this area, someone has to chime in with an "enjoy the journey" statement. I understand where it comes from, but some people have different desires and preferences than you do. While you might be happy as a clam with the game in a Miranda or the generic 'Escort', 'Science Vessel', or 'Cruiser' with few BO powers to choose from and fighting basic Klingons, some people prefer to have a full toolset in a 'Defiant', 'D'Kyr', or 'Galaxy' fighting the game's highest challenges. Also, if someone wanted to farm up as many emblems and marks as they could before the hamhanded conversion, they'd better get started ASAP. They don't have time to tiptoe through the tulips and work on the 'Six months to VA' plan.

Besides, your assertion is just a little bit off. The f2p conversion will bring the (much delayed, should've been in Season 4) duty officer system which provides another timesink...errr, avenue of player development. I realize it's not the obvious missions and FEs and such, but people are going to work at getting "the best bonuses" so it does fit the bill (barely).

Eh? You read too much into what I stated and chose to make up these imaginary tales of me saying to take 6 months to level up a character or staying under T5 ships. What you have depicted is clearly not what I stated I only stated to enjoy the game and not rush it. STO isn't going to disappear overnight so no need to get your panties in a bind over a game. Also remember this is a game and should be enjoyed as such which it is apparent that objectivity has been lost in some views. As well it was only a suggestion by a person such as myself that is left with little to do in the game except for leveling up new characters in which the OP will become just like the majority who has nothing to do but what I have stated. Time tables are always subject to change so there is no telling how long it will be before any of this goes to holodeck.

I also was born at night but not last night, I know all of this I was clearly stating neglecting the customer is neglected the game and many profits can be potentially lost by forgetting that our happiness within the game is what lets it continue to be great. I do acknowledge all the effort that has in gone into what we have seen in season 4 though.

Well, I hit RA last night and got into the next ship tier, which is all I wanted. I like playing with new ships. /shrug.

No need to fight over what was a simple question about quick leveling methods. I definitely prefer to "enjoy the ride" so to speak, but I also really wanted that next ship.

Yeah thats pretty much what I meant in a nutshell because you really want to use the best ships but also with what we get is better to enjoy the ride LOL I shouldn't have replied to that one guy tho I did some research on him in the forums and he is nothing more than a troll.

I dont see the mission "Blast Test Dummy" in the foundry.. any other search parameters i can try??

I usally Do 3 or 4 missions then use a 15 muinet or 1 hour exp boost before I turn them in. That way you get a nice bonus all at once for a single booster.
