There's nothing "massive" to the T5 BoPs we have.
Big yes but most of it are wide skinny wings and a long thin neck with a small command section.
When you scaled a B'Rel BoP up to 350 meters you end up with a far more massive ship, especially the rear section on that ship is bigger.
We obviously speak of difrent ships.
The wings are in no way "skinny", especially not compared to the original bop.... also (although that cant be reflectet in game mechanics) the BoP design does not make ANY scense if you consider the wings are parts of the ship that are essential for its survival. They just carry weapons, and loosing them does just mean loosing that weapons, not more not less.
And the main hull + head are very massive, especially compared to any fed escort besides the defaint. (at least if you dont take that Haj-garbage-parts)
So the Hegh'ta and the K'vort don't really have much in common beyond their length and the fact they have wings.
Couldnt disagree more.
Beside, of course, that thei are about the same size wich just supports my previous post.
a hypothetical K'vort would look like this.
The rear hull is more massive, the neck is shorter and the command section is also much larger, both in width and height.
The wing surface is also larger as the K'vort would also be wider when both ships have their wings up.
Same length does not mean same size as in volume and mass, not when the proportions are totally different.
Battle cloaking is really only any good on Vessels with the speed and turnrate to use it properly.
BCloaking in combat on a battle cruiser and still being in the combat zone due to speed issues may suck.
Besides, I would hate to use a less-survivable BattleCruiser just to have a battle cloak.
Remember, I was saying it should be faster then a Vor'cha...with a little less shields/hull than a Vor'cha. And if all fails, It doesnt necessarily need a battle cloak.
or as wide as a Vor'cha.
Which is exactly what we saw in "Reunion".
Which fits well with my idea. Hopefully Cryptic gets what we are going for here. The K'vort was an awesome ship that deserves representation. And wouldnt be that hard to make, and could offer time to polish the existing B'rel model which is a bit lacking.
Or add a 'reskin' for the Heg that looks like a Brel and comes with a console that lowers turnrate and speed while increasing shield and hull?
I don't see this happening simply because it would kill any possible sales of the B'rel refit on the c-store. That may actually be the reason behind them not releasing a K'vort class as well... though if they added it to c-store, what difference would it make, so that argument may not stand up to much scrutiny.
Still, I'd love to have a T4 or 5 K'vort class, though it might make more sense canon-wise to have it as T3.5 or so... Seemed like it was the ship to have while the Vor'cha was [presumably] the flagship, as evidenced by "Reunion". As the Vor'cha was the chancellor's ship in that episode, and 2 [presumed] K'vorts were the chariots of Gowron and Duras, we can come to the (albeit somewhat stretched) conclusion that K'vorts were formidable battle-cruisers and not the versatile B'rel scout/raider.
Just my opinion though. I hope we see it eventually. I hardly ever see B'rels and, even though I love the design (and it probably my favorite sci-fi ship design) I don't dare fly around in it. Call me a coward if you dare, but I seek honor in victory, not a quick death. I need a ship that can survive long enough to get me to the ground so I can crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of the women.
