What gives you that impression.

(Needs to step up on tippy toes on a bench to start 8 hour working shift.)

Ha!

But at least you can (barely) reach the panel on tippy toes....

....think about what the Ferengi and Pakled officers go through.

Modern LCARS like this would look amazing:

Blues being the dominant color, but not entirely blue. I think this was the Nemesis style.

If you are looking for some good LCARS animations or pictures, have a look at these pages:

More photos HERE.

I get the feeling that there are even more updates on the way. The ship customization console has been removed which looks weird. There's 4 benches missing from the Stateroom too. I don't think these texture changes are the only changes coming.

So did ESD really get scaled up or not? Some of these screenshots really illustrate the ridiculous scale of architecture and interiors in this game, and it looks terrible. It needs to get scaled down if anything.

And frankly, is this really the best use of the (supposedly) limited resources Cryptic has? The state of the game in F2P is a total disaster, and ESD is not one of the problems. Also just my personal view but I'd rather whoever is doing these changes to ESD be working on new art assets for new content (or even coming up with scripts, fixing bugs, ANYTHING) rather than tweaking social zones that are just fine (nice, even) as they currently are.

ESD does need it though. Its the Feds main social are and to be honest (to me) does not feel Trek at all. At least now it looks more starfleet.

Given the placement thereand that the set is Cryptic designed, I think the point of contention there is that Cryptic seems to regard LCARS panels as used for both signage and touch access, with many airport-style displays which are NOT intended to be reachable using the LCARS look, whereas it seems some players seem to think all implementations of an LCARS display are meant to be touch activated workstations.

The scale hasn't changed at all. Aside from the rearrangement/removal of a few chairs, various small map geo objects, and a wall panel, these are just lighting/texture changes. Also, K-7 has received some amount of the same type of updates.

Well, to me it's not so much about the LCARS (I don't mind them being used as 'signage'), it's more the scaling that is totally out of whack - as seen in previous posts in this very thread:

'Camera' excuses be damned - other MMO's can get their scaling right and have absolutely no 'camera' issues. This was just forced, quick coding (cut and paste from Champions) done when Cryptic was under the extremely tight initial launch deadline (thanks Perpetual jackhats! ). When my captain can fly like my hero in Champions, then I can see the need to keep the scaling, but until that happens - - for goodness sake - - let's correct the ginormous "Land of the Giants" sizes please!
