I just got the scourge today and haven't tested it much. The only thing of note at the moment is that it looks HUGE. There are a great many windows or window looking things that make it appear to be really really big. Larger than a galaxy class big. Not sure what its size is supposed to be. Looking forward to flying it. Speaking of which, off i go to do just that.

Vent Theta Radiation is way, waaaay too powerful. Didn't test it in PvP, but when it comes to NPCs it can drain their whole shields in a matter of seconds. I flew this thing over B'Ger during a Borg Encounter and all of it's shields (all sides) were gone almost instantly. Not to mention the Mirror Event - fly through the enemy group and they're basically already dead - immobilised and w-o shields.

I'm not sure exactly how this works, as I'd assume the amount of shield drain should be constant (afaik for me it said -52 shields every second), but regardles on what enemy I use it on - be it a borg cube or b'ger - their shields just go down in an instant. Considering that this is an Escort type ship, I believe the ability is just too strong.

As for the ship itself, it looks really good and menacing. I really liked it at first, but later couldn't unsee a giant fish in it (clearly inspired design), which just made me giggle most of the time. ;>

One major problem I noticed is that nothing is displayed in the ship's tailor. Nothing at all - no ship model, no options of any kind.

The thing that especially threw me off was that almost all of the ship's weapons came from it's center, or should I say "jaw". It reminded me of the Jellyfish from the new ST movie, but frankly I'd personaly like the ship to have at least something fired from its sides. I also had the Quad Cannons equipped and combined with Cannon Scatter Volley it looked kind of silly, pewpewing everything from just one hard point.

Generally, fun ship, nice ability, but I'm not sure I'd buy it on Holodeck for such high price. As you level to BG1 the ship is useless and you only have the console to play with. No skin for other ships, no Tier 5 variant, nothing.

PS. Oh, and the ship's Transwarp leads to ESD

well its (pittifully) obviously broken right now since the actual shield and crew drain is much stronger then the one given in the tooltips.
I tried it in a fight with a friend who is piloting a Star Cruiser and his crew was gone INSTANTLY, the tooltip says "2,5% per second" crew drain, so on a star cruiser it should take a while until the whole crew is gone.

Hope it doesnt get nerfed TOO far^^ As long as the feds have Anti Matter spread we need an OP weapon too^^
But yeah its obviously to strong now.

You guys do realize that the tooltip tells you how much drain one stack produces? If you manage to trap the enemy in a huge stack, the drain stacks...

I have no idea what this means, trapping an enemy in a stack. (still trying to and its hurting my brain, could you please explain what you meant?) (Oh, and not trying to be mean, I really just don't understand)

However the vent radiation power is quite powerful. I have not tested this in PVP just PVE. The enemy is stopped, its shields drained to nothing in a matter of seconds, and it cannot target me. I can usually destroy any ship (in normal mode, have yet to try advanced) before it can escape the cloud. Any ship that survives the cloud is easily finished off by a single torpedo before it can do much more than tickle my shields. Mind you I am also currently using the console from the Vanguard as well, not sure if the two work together.

What he means is the DoT and drain stacks, it applies the damage every second but if you can get three seconds worth you'll get 3x -52 shield drain and 3x -2.5% crew. The more pulses you can get the target caught in the more crew and shield drain it suffers.

Thanks for the explanation! That is what I thought might be meant but had no clue as to how to phrase it.
(more of a casual player and don't get into the math and how things work)

So having played a few more battles on advanced, still PVE, its quite easy to take down large ships, sci ships, you name it. The vent console with evasive maneuvers and laying down a spread of quantum mines = boom. On advanced I may have to fire a couple of torpedoes at a typhoon class. It helps that the cloud does not affect me at all. I can fly through with impunity. If the cloud affected ALL ships regardless of side it would be (annoying as heck) a little less like an i win button. I'll leave it to the previous two posters who actually understand how things work (Gaius and militis)for specifics, however it does seem a tad overpowered still.
