# 1 Symbiote or Symbiont?
11-23-2011, 08:56 AM
Hi guys,

I always thought that the lug living inside a Trill was called a Symbiote, yet Memory Alpha, and other assorted Star Trek Wiki type sites suggest that the correct spelling is actually Symbiont.

Can anyone clarify which is actually correct? I only ask because symbiont just doesn't seem right to me.

Thanks

I've been online and checked some of the DS9 scripts. It is symbiont.

Damn, guess I need to change the name of my Captain's Yacht now.

Symbiont or symbiote....both are defined the same way. Either-or, doesn't matter.
