Its time for another edition of Ask Cryptic! Previously, Ask Cryptics were general Q&As without much focus, but as we move forward, wed like to make our interactions with the community more comprehensive and targeted. So this time, were focusing on one particular part of the game, ground combat, and asking you to put a bunch of great questions to us.

When you mean shields recharging, do you mean like Starcraft's Protoss units (slow over time) or Halo (near instant)?

Can we steal enemy stuff (weapons, "kits", etc.)?

Okay first question!

Will there be autoattacks and cooldown timers?

Will different planets offer different tactical possibilities beyond terrain and obstacles?

Will we be able to call in "air support" ala ship-to-surface fire from our ships?

This sounds very Team Fortress 2 so far. Any comment on that as an inspiration for ground combat?

the way ground combat was explained sounded a little like a mix between planetside and halo with pets, is that sort of the way this will be?

How many of the missios we get involve ground combat? 50%? 100%?

First off i like where its ground combat has gone. good job.

obviously klingons have the bet'leth for close quarters combat. what will the federation have?
hint: cool fold out sword from the new trek movie.

will there be ground based vehicles? example: hovercraft or wheeled type.

Is this 3rd person only or can i switch to a FPS point of view?

Since each profession is limited to what they can learn and use, will there be a way to ever change professions or will a new character have to be made if you decide you don't like the one you picked? Sometimes it takes a big time investment in a character before you even realize a different one would have been more for you. I'm not asking for on the fly changes, but more akin to the old Star Wars Galaxies profession trees.

Can you equip your Bridge Officers with kits as well or are they limited only to the player character, aka the Captain? (Such as bringing down your awesome science officer and head engineer with kits matching their respective "careers.")

Will weapons suffer damage? And if so, if they break can we easily switch to a melee weapon?

Say our friends are engaged in combat, can we beam in behind the attackers while our friends have then engaged?
