I don't know about you but as I found out from listening to the conversation on OPvP last night, I'm definitely a noob as my BoP runs both PSW and a tractor beam. Oh well, at least as a noob, I can be given some slack for my BoP exploding whenever someone looks at it wrong...

This method of trying to teach the new the ways of the PvP was one of the reasons that the KDF was seen as OP way back when. In that day manyof the experienced players would take the the noobs under thier wings and teach them.
Sadly those days are gone or at least very infrequent now.

Its kinda how I joined.

this game was jokes easy to start (for klingon) even with the immeasurable gaps between them (again, way worse at the start). specifically for klingon tacticals... but i digress

The game has gone through many cycles and changes. Some have stayed, some left and returned, some gone forever. But if you go to any sports hall of fame, it isnt the guys who won the most games in one year, or had a "moment" of glory. The greatest attribute of any hall of famer is longevity. Being good isnt good enough. You have to be good every day all day from day 1.
Hence why I only get a close the STOHOPVPF as being the guy that tears the tickets.
" Why yes, the bathrooms are just around the corner to the right. Enjoy the exhibits."
" Sir, if your kids continues to drip icecream on the Devs photo we may ahve to get him a new icecream."
" Yes!, I too thought he would be taller."
"yes Sir, the KDF exhibits have always cloaked in and out like that when you listen to them."

So theres a big difference between beign a jerk, and just knowing what your talking about when someone else doesnt.
That difference being how one displays that experience and how the inexperienced recieves it.
Come across as to elitist and the noobs do not listen and feel insulted.
Come across to vague and they feel your words have no wieght.

If the noob has his head wrapped around false ideas of OPness and imbalance then he may not be open to learning.

I know these things... I was that noob once.

join the organizedpvp chat channel. befriend all you encounter. work proactively to develop solutions. kill. feds.
Best advice yet.
Though a thick skin will be needed as PvP is a passionette sport and passion breeds conflicting emotions. Tempers will erupt from time to time.

I wish I wasnt a noob atm. Way back when the game went live, I levele'd to RA via 99% PVP, and although I wasnt an ace, I always made a difference. Then I got bored and have been away from the game for almost a year or so now, and EVERYTHING has changed lol. I feel so out of the "loop" on pvp it makes me sick to my stomach how much i am sucking when I play now.(been back 2 weeks now). I want to re-learn, I just don't know where to go lol. Only groups that have showed any interest so far really dont have any pvp core. So frustrated...

You go here. Ask questions, start threads outlining tactics and take the opportunity of having some of the best PvP'ers ingame (not me mind you) to use as sounding boards for your ideas.

A lot of people are a lot more helpful than some folks give them credit for as long as you approach with an open mind. Being stubborn only makes it harder on yourself.

Honestly, now is a pretty good time to get back into PvP by virtue of so many needing to reevaluate their builds again. Last night was fun and even interesting again while everyone worked out their kinks. Respecs should be more accommodating but really the playing field has been leveled a bit for the moment.

We all get frustrated but don't give up!!!

I do. The second TOR goes live. I am tired of the broken classes, imbalanced powers, exploits, hacks and cheats that run wild in this game

Escorts that can tank like cruisers, SNB SNB SNB SNB SNB SNB spam. Sci ruling everything. A game that want to force cookie cutter builds by virtue of these broken abilities and punishes those who want to do it a different way, a horrible community who has massive amounts of members who thrive on the imbalances and defend them to their last breath (not talking about you Hale,.. just the people who love their broken powers instead of balance that promotes GOOD gameplay). Elitist attitude that is greater than any gaming community that I have ever known.

Good riddance.

May this game be standing on Alderaan when the Death Star fires.

Speaking of broken, that Especially broken Pay to win ability like Antimatter Spread! . Zombie cruisers that can't die, AMS as part of thier core defense strategy...with an RSP or 2 to boot...whats next, EPtE on Gal-X's when the goin gets tough?! :p

In all seriousness,Tanking is too much in this game, battles dont' end w/o a sci in them anymore, tho I think that SCI's were the hardest nerfed in this build, with the average CO level sci ability not being as effective as it was a week ago. I also think that TAC team shield distribution is the problem with escorts, TAC team shield buff has way too much up time, it'll be a game changer when they bring about Shield distribution as a solo power, as its up time is getting cut in half from what i've read so far.
And while SNB could use a balance pass at some point into how it works, the fact that any wet carrot of an engineer can make a cruiser borderline unkillable without an SNB is also part of the problem. its WAY to easy to stack resistances with heals ect with little to no DR. There is now an entire sub culture of zombie engineers out there who pride themselves on how they can't die, and act as if the ability to survive translates to skill..."took 3 of you to kill me! haha"...well of course it did, this games heal resist/stackin is insane. The only cruisers I'm impressed with are the ones that can keep teams alive, and run great support, the rest are zombie engy's who deserve every swing they get with the SNB shovel.
