Currently there are TWO Engines in the game that make you go faster than Warp 10

The Borg Engine, and i think the MACO Engine (one from the new STF sets anyway).


The Drive Coil skill is awesome at lower levels so you can go faster than Warp 5 but it maxes out at Warp 10 if the Engine has no bonus applied.


Therefore i request that ALL Engines Mk X and above get at least a low bonus to the speed to trigger the Drive Coil Bonus speed.

It does not have to be Warp 14 like the Borg Engine, but how about Warp 11 11.5 12 12.5 13 13.5 etc.

right now there is only one choice for Endgame and that is the Borg Engine for an awesome Warp 21 ...add the +25 Drive Coil Bonus from the DOff System's Ship assignments and you go even faster than that.


Now i am sitting in my Orion Marauder, thinking that the Breen Set engine (the blue one) looks freaking awesome while i have the Reman Series Shield equipped. BUT it only does Warp 10, therefore i do not want to use it. :-(


Also the > 120 EDC Set Items from the STF's should do better than the old 15 EDC Retro Borg Set, not worse! At least make them all the same speed.


honestly i don't know how i was able to play this game with < Warp 10 these last 2 years, now that i've gotten used to Warp 21 i NEVER want to go back!

i agree with this...

now we're all breaking the warp10 limit on a regular basis, we need more engines that give a bonus to that effect.

and please dont tie them into forced teaming missions either.. give us solo players some kind of warp-bonus love too :3 because try as i might, i cant seem to get my engineers to overclock the warp core >_<

doesnt need to be much, warp 11/12 works, with a corresponding increase in slipstream speed.

We actually had a quick discussion with Borticus about that yesterday. I was doing an elite run at that time so I kind of forgot what the result of it was. He did mention that originally the sets were supposed to be factionless.

Warp Drives should be equipable items by themselves...

I go 20.90 with borg engines and max driver coil skills, Warp 29.90 with slipstream skill.

I'd say thats more than fast enough. I would like more options on items with decent visuals, be able to choose our own stats so we dont have to use the "best" all the time and can use what we like the look of most instead.

This, this and more this. It does not make sense that the Warp Speed is tied to the Impulse Engines. Would be even nicer if different warp drives gave you different looking "engine rooms" on you ship. I am amazed at how collosal the one we have is on my escort .

Now divorcing the enhanced WARP SPEEDs from the IMPULSE ENGINEs. Emphasis is mine. That way we can use what every engine we want. And it irks the canon-ist in me of putting that on purely a sub-light speed piece of equipment.
