Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
Will your choice of duty officers be effected by your captain's profession?
In other words if you have a tactical captain and the duty officer you chose is more of engineer will you still be able get the full benefit of his "chance" abilities?
I know that are not to be thought of as bridge officers, but I wanted to avoid the headache of "You can buy me tactical captain but you can't use me because I'm more of a engineer" situation.
Your bridge officers (space and ground) also get equal benefit from your active roster. As a tac officer, if you have a science boff with healing skills, they will still be able to spawn in medical support if you have a nurse in the ground active roster.
Obviously if you do ground PVP or ground STFs, you'll want ground doffs that match your class because your away team officers don't take part in those things, but everywhere else you're good.
Okay, this is the area that I'm still uncertain about. For ground abilities will my engineering DOs that are slotted for active ship duty provide the bonuses to my engineering BOffs? For example if I slot a DO that has the chance to provide an extra turret, will it do so for my engineering BOffs (I'm a tac for this example)?
Yes. They didn't originally on Tribble, and Heretic said it was such a big technical challenge it probably wouldn't happen... but then they quietly slipped it in the November 4th tribble patch.
This may be a silly question, but if I have a Doff who starts out as a low level guy (white), will he have a chance to "rank up" to green, blue, and purple if I work with him enough (give him plenty of chances for mission success)? Or do they all stay at the level you get them at originally?
I didn't know if I was "harming" my Doffs' careers by assigning to missions where they weren't really qualified and messing up their chance for promotion.
